A {{prod}} template has been added to the article 5 i philosophy, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. Hi there. I thought I'd leave a note explaining a few editing norms on Wikipedia of which you may not be aware that relate to Ross Morrison McGill and the relevant discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ross Morrison McGill. Given the substantially similar areas of interest and editing patterns, I am assuming that this account is operated by the same person who has been editing these two pages with the IP address 81.100.129.161. If this is mistaken, please let me know on my talkpage.
- Firstly, please do not alter remarks made by other users on discussion pages, as was done here on the deletion discussion page. There are a very limited number of situations where this is appropriate, listed here, but it is never appropriate to change comments made by others so as to change what they were trying to say.
- If you would like to participate in the deletion discussion, you may want to read the relevant guideline beforehand, and then participate my making your own comments rather than changing comments by others. You do not need to worry that much about formatting, I would be happy to fix anything you post, and if you would like some advice on how to put forward a convincing argument, please let me know on my talkpage and I'd be happy to help
- Within articles, if you wish to link to another page within Wikipedia, simply find the article title and place it within two square brackets. For example, to link to Wikipedia, I would type
[[Wikipedia]], not[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia Wikipedia]. The second type of linking is reserved to links to pages outside Wikipedia, so called "external links" - External links are typically not linked to within articles. For example, if you refer to degree program within an article (as you did with the BA in design tech and education), it should not be linked to an external site within the body of the article, although it may be linked to a Wikipedia article on the topic. If you wish to add relevant external links, this should typically be done in an "External links" section at the bottom of the article.
- Finally, though this was probably an honest mistake, it is not appropriate to edit within the same subject area with multiple accounts (eg an IP address and a registered account) when any connection between the accounts has not been disclosed. This is referred to as sock puppetry, and makes interacting with editors difficult, and can be seen as an effort to deceive others. It is easy to edit having forgotten to log in, and this is probably what happened here, but please be aware that it can make things difficult for others.
