Lord-lieutenant flag

edit

Hi there!

Thank you for your well-intentioned changes regarding the broken lord-lieutenant's flag. I have found the issue with the vector file, corrected it, and therefore reverted most of your changes. In future if you see that an image is wrong, rather than uploading a file you found online (which is likely to be un-free and therefore deleted) you can contact editors at the Illustration Workshop to help you edit the existing file or create a new one.

You are also welcome to contact me on my talk page if you need more help.

Can I also clarify one of your changes that I haven't undone -- is the flag used in Scotland exclusively the "lion rampant" or is the UK version with the sword and crown also used? I couldn't tell from a quick look at the article.

Hi
Thanks for your comments- I am new to Wiki Editing so still learning!
I can see the incorrect version is still on the main Lord-Lieutenants page- is this just a case of delay in the page being updated? And presumably the correct version of the Lord Lieutenant flag will replace all other instances of the 'broken', incorrect flag on other articles?
As for the Lion Rampant, from what it is possible to ascertain, it is the only flag used by Scottish Lord-Lieutenants [1]https://www.royal.uk/royal-banner-royal-arms-scotland#:~:text=The%20Royal%20Banner%20of%20the%20Royal%20Arms%20of%20Scotland%2C%20also,rampant%20lion%20and%20Royal%20tressure.
Please let me know if this answers your questions.

It may take a while for your local cache to pick up the corrected version of the image; you can sometimes do a "hard refresh" (Ctrl+F5 in Chrome) to force it to do so. And yes, as the various articles are all referring to the corrected file, they will all appear correct once this happens.
I will leave the Renfrewshire article based on that link.
Thanks again, don't be afraid to make similar edits in future. At worst you'll get a busybody like me undoing them and giving you pointers. So long as it's constructive everyone is usually very friendly.
As I said, do also feel free to contact me if you need more direct help. NikNaks talk - gallery 15:29, 13 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
