Hi. Your article News-sheet looks like a definition of a newspaper, so I've redirected it there. If you can come up with some content that differentiates a news-sheet from a newspaper, please feel free to break the redirect and edit the news-sheet article. Sameer Bhat

edit

The article Sameer Bhat has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a person or group of persons but it does not indicate how or why that person or group is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. Hi. Please don't simply copy and paste the first paragraph of news articles into our current events. Try to rephrase. Paragraph from the Guardian article:

Israel yesterday suffered its worst day since the Lebanon conflict began when 14 of its soldiers were believed to have been killed in fighting with Hizbullah, a military calamity that could prove to be a turning point in the war

As it was on Portal:Current events/2006 July 27 :

Israel sufferes its worst day since the Lebanon conflict began as 14 of its soldiers are believed to have been killed in fighting with Hizbullah, a military calamity that could prove to be a turning point in the war.

All you've done here is changed the tense (introducing a spelling mistake). This is not ok. Please write stuff on the current events page in your own words. Thanks, Morwen - Talk 10:15, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vikram Seth

edit

I am glad to find another fan of Mr Seth's writing but I am afraid that the material you have introduced violates the "neutral point of view" policy of Wikipedia (not to speak of including a spelling error). The quotation from the Washington Post would not contravene the policy given that it reports the view of that paper's reviewer, but it would have to be footnoted. I am reverting your additions; please feel free to come back with the quotation when you can provide a citation.Masalai 10:05, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sameer S Bhat

edit

The article Sameer S Bhat has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:03, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Sopore Outskirts.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Sopore Outskirts.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:09, 13 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 03:09, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Jeffrey Lang

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Jeffrey Lang. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeffrey Lang. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:07, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sameer Bhat

edit

A tag has been placed on Sameer Bhat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. andy (talk) 11:18, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, such as Sameer Bhat, you will be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. This article has previously been deleted twice, for exactly the same reason. Please stop wasting everyone's time by creating it again and again. andy (talk) 11:20, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at Sameer Bhat

edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Sameer Bhat. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 12:04, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
