RedCoat10 I just uploaded another one, will I assume your last message covers both, or do you want to repeat the message. --Domer48 11:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I think I will give you the benefit of the doubt and take it for granted that you are aware. RedCoat10 11:27, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Barbary Partridge

I don't think that your edits are bad faith, unless you consider a rollback to be a declaration of such. Unfortunately, using pop-ups I missed half your edit, and inadvertently rolled back more than I thought. Categories for birds of individual European countries are now deprecated, and should be categorised as "birds of Europe". My book has Red-legged Partridge as the only Alectoris partridge in Iberia, so can you say whether it's introduced or native (latter seems unlikely - I tried to check on birdlife international, but the site is down). Apologies for not clarifying earlier. Jimfbleak 05:51, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

OK, I've found a different link, and I'm happy that it really is native. Jimfbleak 06:16, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Agree, it's a more scientific-looking source. Jimfbleak 09:38, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Gibraltar Constitution Order 2006

Hi RedCoat10. You are off to such a great start on the article Gibraltar Constitution Order 2006 that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. The Main Page gets about 4,000,000 hits per day and appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Also, don't forget to keep checking back at Did you know suggestions for comments regarding your nomination. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 17:09, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Military history of Gibraltar during World War II

Hi RedCoat10, I would first like to congratulate you on the high quality of this article. That is why I am here - I feel it deserves Good Article status, assuming you are willing to make a few minor tweaks, or even a few big ones, if it is put on hold or fails the first time. I thought I'd just let you know. If you are interested, the Good Article candidate page is here. Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:27, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Thats your choice, all I will say is that it is probably a good idea. Also, I would support your decision to make improvements to the lead section, as it was one of the few flaws I perceived when looking at the article; it doesnt seem to properly summarise the article, as leads should, and may need some (minor) improvement in wording. Cheers, and good luck in regards to the article's 'polishing'. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations! Well done. It deserves the status; a great piece of writing. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:01, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
  • RedCoat10, I really like what you've done with the article. Seems quite a bit easier to read. That being said, I'd suggest some sort of timeline to put at the top of the article on the right, about where you'd have an infobox. The chronicle of events is a good idea, but I'd suggest making it narrower and sticking it up towards the front. That way, someone new to the topic can get a quick overview of the big points without having to delve into the main body. Just my two cents. JKBrooks85 22:05, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I'd say to use the same sort of style that you used with the submarine attack box to cover the main points in the military history of Gibraltar during WWII. Make it one column, narrow, and include your top photo in it. Since there's no real infobox for this sort of thing, I imagine that a timeline sort of box would really work well to help people get an overview without having to read the whole article. JKBrooks85 18:56, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Looks very nice, indeed. I like it a lot. If you'd like, I'll proofread it and clarify the bits that I (as an outside reader) find unclear. Let me know. JKBrooks85 16:28, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the barnstar! I'm just sorry we couldn't get that article to pass the A-list review. Let me know if there's any help I can give when you decide to tackle it again. JKBrooks85 17:18, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Gibraltar flag icons

Actually RedCoat10, I am far from happy. There is no need at all to have any flags there. Removing them (for the second time) to avoid a silly conflict was justifiable on my part. Replacing them was not a good idea. --John 20:29, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I think it is ready. last thing: don't be completely surprised if it fails - there are some very hard reviewers out there. I would review it (I have done a few reviews in the past), and pass it, but I'm not sure I could be considered impartial because of my involvement. All the same; I'm fairly sure it will pass, and even if it doesn't, it will give you some idea where the article needs improving. Good luck. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:30, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Mozart - Gibraltar

Hello, turns out you found an entire class of Mozart compositions that were not in the list: short pieces for voice and accompaniment. I added a section for Concert Arias, Songs and Canons and added the Gibraltar fragment to the list and an expansion tag. I also removed the piano concerto tag from the article. Thanks for the article! DavidRF 16:10, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Somaliland

RedCoat, the former currency of Somaliland was the East African shilling, as Somaliland is an independent state. - (Numismaticman 06:01, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

Naming conventions on numismatic articles

Nothing will change my opinion that it currently sucks the way it is, given the fact that the Coins of the South African Republic article is wrongly merged into the article Coins of the South African pound, when it should be the Coins of the South African rand that should be merged into the former. - (Numismaticman 06:01, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

RedCoat, can you please help me out with an article called Postal Orders of Gibraltar? I would like your input as far as information on these goes. - (Numismaticman 06:01, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

Thank you for adding in some information. If you have got a postal order bearing a datestamp of the Royal Gibraltar Post Office, can you please upload some photos of both sides of the postal order to illustrate the article? - (Numismaticman 12:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

Traders' Currency Tokens of Gibraltar

RedCoat, if you have any information, including the KMTn numbers, can you please contribute some information, including photos? - (Numismaticman 12:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

I have created the article, which I reckon should be an online Krause catalogue, as a lot of collectors cannot afford the books themselves. What do you think? - (Numismaticman 13:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC))
That is a very good addition of KMTn catalogue numbers to the article. Can you please include an English translation of the Spanish inscriptions as well? - (Numismaticman 14:19, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

Thank you for the translation of the Spanish inscriptions. We are aiming to educate people, so it helps to have the original language with an English translation. Spanish is a language I don't have any competence in, although there are certain things that I can read in Spanish. - (Numismaticman 21:45, 10 August 2007 (UTC))

GCSE

Thank you! Congratulations to you too. The options I picked were/are German, History and Geography. English is probably my weakest subject because I'm not very confident in writing (that probably shows). Maths my strongest, though I had to work extremely hard for that A* with very little teaching. This new science GCSE is of mixed fortunes. The first half of the double science GCSE we did this year. I managed to get 40/40 and 40/40 on the most recent modules, but before that I got an array of marks in the low-to-mid 30s. My average is 35.8 (36 being necessary for an A*) so my fate depends on these new weird internal exams which count for something like 30% overall. Aside from the important ones, I did paper 1 of RS Catholic Christianity this year and got 86/100. I don't know what sort of grade I'm looking at with there, and I don't even know whether that's scaled or raw! The rest to look forward to next year! So you're also in year 10 and have taken things early? Biofoundationsoflanguage 10:20, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Nope. I've done basic science (or whatever it's called) this year and do additional next year. Is yours with edexcel too? I might have to repeat science modules if my internal exam papers aren't quite enough to get me up to an A* overall. But that's not the end of the world.
My school bullied me in to doing maths early but didn't really give me satisfactory assistance. I had to have a tutor, but I don't know how much use he was really. A lot of the stuff he taught me wasn't in the exam. They want me to do some FSMQ and again probably won't teach me, which will do my esteem no end of good!
Does it bother you doing Spanish? (either politically or otherwise). I certainly prefer german to romance languages, but I'm not that good at it. I'm sure there are more useful languages we could be learning! Mandarin is the new up-and-coming language after all.
We're going to be done by this new A* grade at A-level! Great... Biofoundationsoflanguage 14:10, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't go so far as saying I liked maths! Certainly this additional maths thing with OCR seems fiendishly difficult. On the practice paper on OCR's website I can only just answer the first question, which would get me a grade U. So I have some improving to do!
German verbs and sentence order is the biggest problem, but I think pronunciation is simpler than many other languages. Even English has quite a few illogically-pronounced words.
Ah Gordie. My best friend! While I prefer his style (or lack thereof) to that of Blair, I think he's been very lucky with the economy over the last 10 years without having to do much. He inherited an economy in very good condition from the last government of course (contrary to the rubbish spread about mostly by the labour party) which helps too of course. If he wants to govern the country for any length of time he'd be barmy not to call an election this year, because people won't love him unquestionably for too long (unlike Blair). What a shame Dave is an equal twit. (Sorry - I always get too deeply involved whenever someone mentions a politician's name)
I will do AQA for English and German. I think edexcel has a (possibly untrue) reputation of being somewhat easier for sciencey-mathsy subject, which is probably why my school picks them. Are your exam papers marked locally, do you know? Just curious. Biofoundationsoflanguage 16:07, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Gibraltar sounds a great place. I'd really like to move to somewhere with a strong British influence, but which hasn't been spoiled by bureaucracy and general nastiness. I would really like to be a Governor of somewhere, not that there's much choice of places anymore! Being a representitive of the Crown than some politician. It probably sounds odd but I am quite nostalgic for a time I've never experienced - I would have loved to have been around when Margaret Thatcher won a landslide and be able to appreciate the gravity of it. Do you identify and Gibraltarian and British, or British and Gibraltarian?
I do feel somewhat sorry for Brown. His problems in the first month certainly don't compare to Tony's (he only had "the people's princess"'s death to deal with). I still hope he comes a cropper though.
Nice link there. I would like to know what it must be like trying to learn English. Biofoundationsoflanguage 17:50, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
By the way I've nicked your countries I've visited thing and put it on my userpage! (though obviously changed the countries) Biofoundationsoflanguage 19:22, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
It's been a scarily short time since citizens of the 'colonies' have been entitled to British Citizenship! We were very mean not to give everyone in Hong Kong a British Passport. We didn't even give the people who served in the armed forces there one, and not only was their loyalty not in question but they no longer had a job after the handover! That makes me very angry and sad.
As much as I would like us to have an empire again I still fully support Gibraltar and the other (what should I call them?!) increasing their self-determination while remaining very friendly with Britain. I don't think that's a case of double standards on my part. At least I hope not!
It's fantastic that people take such an interest in politics! I suppose there it's actually worth doing. Lack of a serious opposition party and increasing EU-meddling has really put me off here. Not that I can vote yet anyway. I hope you get represented at the United Nations! Especially as it looks like we are going to be forced into giving up our security council seat in favour of an EU one. I despair. Biofoundationsoflanguage 10:25, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
If they'd been given a passport, they may have been more relaxed staying (knowing they had a get-out if necessary). It would've been a great goodwill gesture at leaste and would've left a nicer taste in people's mouths. But oh well, that's history now.
I'd be quite interested in a political job as I complain so much about the current lot. See if I could do any better! Law would be a consideration, but probably not frontline stuff. Maybe more researchy. Biofoundationsoflanguage 12:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Being hated comes with the territory. I would try to be very honest and open though and make very clear my beliefs. I think the problem with most politicians is that they have no real experience of the real world and have a bunch of advisors who went straight from school, to uniiversity, to being an advisor. And this shows.
You can do a GCSE is a lot of things! I really wanted to do latin but my rubbish school wouldn't let me. Biofoundationsoflanguage 12:40, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
If I did become an MP, my first Private Member's Bill would probably be to reintroduce flogging as a punishment. Lawlessness is becoming a real problem here, particularly among people our age. Not anything that a few lashes wouldn't solve though!
My school withdrew latin last year because they couldn't afford to keep hiring this bloke to come in and teach it. Which is a shame because I'm not getting on with History too well. The list of GCSEs is quite surprising. I'm tempted by Home Economics: Food and Nutrition! Biofoundationsoflanguage 15:59, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
It strikes me if you say anything you get human rightists on your hands! It is extremely ironic we're talking about this, though does give one some hope in our generation! Biofoundationsoflanguage 17:28, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Aha. Try now! Yes I do have msn. Biofoundationsoflanguage 13:09, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

The Raven

Hey, RedCoat. Thanks for your clean up on The Raven. I'll work on that part in the composition section that is riddled with weasel words. I had a hard time writing that so I'll admit it's shoddy. Question, though. During the peer review I was told that possessive terms should be done within the brackets, i.e. [Edgar Allan Poe|Edgar Allan Poe's]... I hadn't heard it before but I acquiesced. Where in the MoS does it talk about that? Thanks again! I'm hoping it passes FA review soon. --Midnightdreary 12:47, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Truthfully, I think I have a tendency towards falling into weasel words no matter what. Even so, I gave it a try. Is this any better? I no longer have that source in hand so I didn't want to change too much. Does it still present sweeping assertions? By the way, in your opinion, is that "Main article: Philosophy of Composition" tag needed here? I'm suddenly inclined to remove it. --Midnightdreary 21:59, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I initially ADDED content on the day of the Release of the Core 2 Duo E6#50's line.... However I decided to then revert the content back as it was still in the Future Processors section. As far as (OTHER CONTENT)...I added several OEM processors to the line up of Pentium 4 478 pin 400FSB 2.8GHZ processor. The first being the SL7EY....it was an obvious oversight by those who edit the page. I currently run a system with this processor. I also noted that the page was also missing a P4 478 Pin 400FSB 3.0Ghz processor (although I could not off hand remember the S code... it is a necessary addition that should not have been overlooked OEM or not!

So to sum up, I reverted everything on the C2D page exactly back to the way I found it. I made two additions to the Pentium 4 page!

i don't appreciate your attitude with me over wiki....you don't own it. And I'll make changes when i want to! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.188.246.205 (talk) 06:17, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
