SPI notice edit

You are suspected of sock puppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Folgertat. Thank you. If you are not a sockpuppet, has anybody ever asked you to be a meatpuppet... did anybody ask you to sign into your account to vote in that AfD or to improve the Chikara season articles?LM2000 (talk) 16:57, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm sure you've lurked through wrestler's articles on wikipedia for quite some time before contributing so you probably have a basic idea on how things should look and flow. That's basically all that WP:PW discusses. One thing that is often overlooked by newcomers though is sources. Per WP:RS and WP:V we need reliable sources to verify content. These are the sources that the wikiproject considers reliable. Beyond that, just make sure to follow general guidelines that Mark posted to you above in your welcome message.

I'm sorry about this sockpuppet issue, assuming that you aren't part of any of this. I'm sure you can see how we could assume sockpuppetry is going on based on the editors who disappeared for long periods of time only to come together to post in favor of that AfD. If you're only grouped into that mess based on coincidence, which is entirely possible, a checkuser will clear your name.LM2000 (talk) 04:18, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

WP:NOYT and this address most of your question regarding social media. Generally they're frowned upon as sources, however if they're a verified account then they could be used as a primary source. As WP:PSTS states it's pretty easy to misuse primary sources so you have to be very careful.LM2000 (talk) 05:52, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

You've been cleared! Sorry to group you in with those guys. I began to suspect you weren't part of that group as I began to examine further. Hopefully this unfortunate incident doesn't turn you off to future editing.LM2000 (talk) 20:19, 22 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, sorry to suspect you RaveBlack, but there was a legitimate reason. I hope you will continue to contribute, your opinion will still stand. starship.paint (talk | ctrb) 07:57, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
