Heya,

Thanks for fixing my numerous spelling errors on the story part of the Guild Wars page. I should probably have used a spell checker judging by the number of them! :) I also apologise for trampling on changes you'd made earlier in the week, but I'd been working on an older version of the page and didn't properly check the page before submitting.

--Aspectacle 03:19, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey no worries about the changes, it's much more concise now so it's looking good (I knew I was right when I thought to myself "Hmmm I could've sworn the story section was a lot longer before!). The spelling changes were minor and half of them are probably unnecessary (it's just I'm pedantic :P).

Guild Wars articles for deletion

edit

Hi. I have just nominated several Guild Wars-related articles for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Guild Wars articles. My rationale is explained there, but in brief I don't think this is encyclopedic information. As you are the principal author of most of these articles, you may wish to post your comments and monitor that discussion. Kaustuv Chaudhuri 12:12, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Kaustuv, I've provided my comments.

Rambutaan 00:30, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

There seems to be a developing consensus for a merge of the character articles. I've taken a first shot at it: User:Kaustuv/List of Guild Wars characters. It is completely unsourced, and based entirely off information on GuildWiki. I'm not a Guild Wars player. Would you see an article such as this as a suitable compromise. (Feel free to edit/correct this page; it can be moved to the main namespace if the AfD is finished and the consensus is to merge.) Kaustuv Chaudhuri 17:02, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, a merge is a suitable compromise (if indeed that goes ahead). I'll check it out ASAP. Thanks for your efforts. --Rambutaan 22:58, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guild Wars Elite Skills

edit

I don't agree with this edit. Elite skills are explicitly mentioned previously in the section, and therefore, it should be explained how to acquire them. Do you have another reasoning behind the edit that I haven't seen? Epsoul 00:37, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's not that I don't think they should be mentioned at all, just separately. Let's say we do include the fact you can use a cap sig to get elites, then you'd also need to mention you can get the elites by winning Balthazar Faction and purchasing it from a skill trainer in PvP. Also, you may have noticed a sign being posted above the section stating that the information at the moment is a candidate for a game wiki :(. So I was worried that if we decided to go into even more detail on how the game works it could give even further justification for the section to be removed completely :(. I think that the elites should be mentioned separately or as an aside to the current list (perhaps place in brackets that you can acquire elites this way as well). Anyway, I don't mind if you change it back - it was only my suggestion :). --Rambutaan 00:44, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject MMO Quarterly
April 2007 Issue I
About Us
WikiProject MMO Quarterly is a quarterly newsletter posted on the first of January, April, July, and October. The newsletter is written by any and all interested members of WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games for members of the project and interested Wikipedians outside of the project.
Questions, comments, and concerns
For general questions, comments, and concerns, leave a message on our talk page here. For questions, comments, and concerns about our newsletter, leave a message on the talk page for the newsletter section of our Outreach Department here.
New good articles and featured articles
Good articles and featured articles are a great way to see what major acomplishments we have made over the last quarter.

Good articles

Featured articles
None this quarter!

Role call
We ask that within a month, all members sign our role call to show that they are still active participants in the project. More information is available on the role call page.
Major news
WikiProject RuneScape, our former child project, was moved to become a task force of this project in January as it had a small scope but the task force is still going strong to this very day.

This past quarter marks the beginning of our new collaboration system MMOGCM. Past collaborations thus far have been World of Warcraft and MMORPG, both of which made it to GA status while it was the MMOGCM.

As well, we now have an Outreach Department which works on this newsletter as well as spreads the word of our project.

WikiProject MMO is also now a participant in the Work via WikiProjects division of Wikipedia 1.0 and as such, we will be helping decide which are the best (based on quality and importance) articles within our scope. Project members can discuss which articles are to be included here.

News from the RuneScape Task Force
We are currently trying to improve this task force so that we can edit all RuneScape-related articles in an organized manner. To do that we started a massive overhaul which we invite all task force members to participate in.

We have also gotten our main article, RuneScape to good article status this quarter. All this, and the task force was only created in January.

Signed...
Greeves, Ed

Thanks for uploading Image:Gwparagon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

QVS

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on QVS, by GarrieIrons, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because QVS fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
no assertion of notability, A7

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting QVS, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate QVS itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 05:31, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Maple Story

edit

Hi, on the page Talk:Comparison_of_massively_multiplayer_online_role-playing_games, you said Maple Story has 50+ million subscriptions. However, the article [1] mentions 5 million, so I would assume you had a slight error while reading the press.
Unlike Pay2Play games which track active subscriptions only (Such as WoW), Maple Story is a free game, it would be impossible for Nexon to track the number of active accounts/subscriptions. This indicates the figure most likely includes all registered accounts currently on Maple Story, which will almost always be significantly higher than the actual population, which could be anywhere from 500,000 - 2,500,000.
I just thought I'd bring this to your attention, even though it is a bit late. --hylian_loach (talk) 12:22, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Gwdervish.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Gwdervish.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:07, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

You need to add in who the specfic rights holder in respect of the character design is, if this your own artwork say so, or if you have already done so make it clearer :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:20, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
