Wishes edit

I thank you for your best wishes on my having completed a year "wikification" - yes, I shall try to do more this year. By the way, my summer this year, I may be transferred to Kolkata, nearer to Bangladesh, at least while goint to Assam-side on official duty from Kolkatta, I may fly over your mother land, Bangladesh - I shall surely feel nice. --Bhadani 11:27, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

By the way, this jsut the beginning of my wiki-life. I aspire to do much more, and I would certainly require wishes from friends like you. --Bhadani 11:32, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bangla Wikipedia edit

Hi! Its great Ragib that you have taken great initiative for the Bangla Wikipedia. It is in a poor condition. Can you suggest me how to write in Bengali script easily? I mean what fonts should I use and how? Thanks.--Dwaipayanc 09:40, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

hI! I already am a user of thye bengali Wikipedia, with the same user name. However, I face extreme difficulty with Bengali scripts. I shall check out the link you provided. Thanks.--Dwaipayanc 19:50, 27 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The keyboard I suggested allows phonetic typing. So, to write your name দ্বৈপায়ন, I have to press d-w-O-I-p-a-y-o-n. Unicode is phonetic, so this Avro keyboard manager allows you to type using the phonetic spelling. You simply don't have to memorize key mappings. --Ragib 19:57, 27 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I would be trying that soon. Also congrats for the Wikidrive you are organizing in Bangladesh now highlighting the Bangla wikipedia. You know, I and my friends often discuss how we are using Bengali less and less in West Bengal, while in Bangladesh people are really trying to improve the language. Hats off to you. Thanks.--Dwaipayanc 18:20, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, glad to see your request for adminship for the Bangla WP was sucessful. I curious what efforts you've made to increase awareness of the project for Bangla speakers, and how that's going. - Taxman Talk 22:03, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

thanks. We have started a media campaign, from today. If you notice (this article in Daily Prothom-Alo), you'd see an article (the top one) explaining what wikipedia is, how to edit it, and also the relevant history. We also formed a mailing list for helping newbies learn the wikipedia processes. I hope this will make Bangla wikipedia richer. Thanks. --Ragib 22:08, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hey, that's great. I'm interested to know how it goes. Looks like you've gotten quite a few people interested on the google group page. As a small request, the Wikijunior Wikibook on languages could definitely use an entry on Bangla given the number of speakers. It would take probably 10 minutes, and if you want to do only the last few questions that I couldn't compile from our Wikipedia entries, I can do the rest if you're short on time. here's the page on what to cover. Thanks a lot. - Taxman Talk 01:21, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The UNICODE bangla is kind of difficult for me, partly because I am too accustomed to Bijoy keyboard layout, and partly because I am too tech-handicapped to adopt new typing methods. Is it possible that I write in Bijoy and some other user uploads it in Wiki?

Alright. edit

Ragib Bhai,

Munir Hasan already talked to one of my friend. We are going to organize a two day long CSE Festival and he will give a talk on Open Source Technology there. Probably he is also going to talk about Wikipedia and so he asked me to be present in the seminar room. Any way I am waiting to meet him. Hope you are keeping fine. --Shehab 06:18, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan talks - the fanatic edit

Hi Ragib! An educated man can be so blind! It's amazing. I am talking about that fanatic in Pakistan talk page. I knew I was not following Wikipedia personal attack policy when I was putting those "persecution of delusion" links to the comment targetted to him, but really I could not help it. It was the least I could do without crossing the limit. If he continues to bark, I think I will be directly calling him mad. Let's see what happens! It's also funny to come across such paranoid persons.LoL.--Dwaipayanc 18:16, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, the person is making incoherent rants. But anyway, I think I'd stop replying to him because that only makes him rant even further. Thanks. --Ragib 18:23, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi edit

Hi Ragib,

Thanks for your welcome message. I was in BUET '95 batch and also an alumni of St. Mary's School, Ctg. Govt. High School (CGHS), Chittagong Collegeiate School and Chittagong College. I am now working on my Ph.D. at the Texas Tech University (I hope this would be my last year). I would like to contribute on Bangladesh related articles in Wikipedia. How can I insert new images in the articles?

Thanks and best wishes,

Tanveer Tanveer 06:18, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tanvir bhai, nice to hear from you. You can use [[Image:filename.jpg|thumb|some caption text]] to add images. You might also go check out the bangla wikipedia at http://bn.wikipedia.org . Let me know if you need any assistance. Thanks. --Ragib 06:40, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ragib, I don't think the ctg college image that I uploaded belongs to any authority other than the alumni association. I don't remember how did I get that image, but I think it is a scanned image from a souvenir published by the alumni association. I couldn't find the website from where I took it (I did save the image long time back and may be the website is not running anymore). As an alumnus of ctg college, I think I can use that image and people pertaining to ctg college shouldn't have any objection putting the image on wikipedia for the sake of publicity. But again, can we put it there until someone claims for the right? Thanks. --Tanveer 00:25, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Acharya S edit

You have made a comment about no personal attacks on user Zarove on the Acharya page. Why then do you and others allow Zarove to make constant personal attacks against the subject herself as well as the other people editing there? This seems to be an egregious abuse of Wikipedia's policy. Here is a list of the numerous personal attacks Zarove has made on the subject.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:%5E%5EJames%5E%5E/evidence

Do you really believe that this sort of behavior is acceptable when you can freely remove personal attacks on Zarove? There is quite a bias going on here. This matter is something that should be take up by the Wikipedia organization ASAP. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.157.176.102 (talkcontribs)

If you go to Zarove's talk page, you'd see that I myself have warned him or banned him several times for his misbehavior. What he does is unacceptable indeed. And I'm totally sure that the arbitration committee will rule against him, thereby finishing his rants in wikipedia.
As for the personal attack policy (WP:NPA), if you look at it, it is meant for attacks against other contributors. There are other policies that handle libelous comments against subjects of articles. One such policy is WP:LIBEL, and if you feel that the subject is libeled by Zarove's actions, feel free to voice that to the arbComm. Also, let me know when Zarove goes out of the line. You might see that he was banned yesterday for violating 3revert rule. The policies of wikipedia apply to everyone ... regardless of what their opinions are. Thanks. --Ragib 19:32, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Let's get this straight:

Ragib (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

You put an article on AFD after you've been shown that Britannica has an entry on her?

I'm starting to think Hanlon's Razor isn't applying here any more... — Dunc| 19:31, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please withdraw the AFD nom. Taking offense at Dunc's comments isn't reason for the nom. You are far too experienced to do this. Guettarda 19:45, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I support the deletion; there is nothing on that page to indicate she is notable. If she is notable, then write an article for WP, this is an encylclopedia not a list of web links.Michael Dorosh 20:06, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Guettarda, No, I did not nominate it because I'm offended by Duncharris. I did it because I repeatedly asked for a notability proof, but didn't get any. I tagged the article on 12th march or so, but the article didn't have anything in it since then to justify the notability of the subject. As for the Brittanica reference, I don't see any facts added to the article from the reference. I looked up the link provided, and it didn't provide any information other than the one liner.
So, the bottom line is, of course Duncharris has crossed the lines of decency a lot, but even disregarding that, the article does not provide any notability proof. Thanks. --Ragib 20:36, 3 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
This is interesting, but unconvincing. I watched the exchange. Your narrative does not agree with the facts as I observed them, including your own comments. AFDing an article after a link to the EB article was included was nothing but transparent retribution. Guettarda 01:26, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, you are free to voice your opinion. I put the notability tag with the hope that the notability will be explained. It was not. The article in the state as I nominated, was a one-liner with no assertion of notability. Such content are against WP:V, and I feel completely justified in challenging that. Thanks. --Ragib 01:29, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm quite willing to let this go if you withdraw your bad faith nomination. It is patently false to say that "unreferenced articles always face AFD". Bad-faith nominations are abuse of process and a huge waste of everyone's time. Guettarda 01:46, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pre-Colonial History section in "History of Pakistan" edit

Ragib, I dont know if you remember me, but I'm Afghan Historian from the Pakistan pages. I was wondering if I could have your consent on an issue. I would like a consensus to remove that Pre-Colonial History section from the History of Pakistan article. To me, it does no purpose but serve a nationalistic sentiment and, to a certain extent, makes false assumptions about the history of the subcontinent. It would do so much more to make this article an encyclopedic entry and not an editorial opinion essay. It's not like the subcontinent has one whole common history. The history of what is now India is as diverse and very different in various regions. Pakistan, ( and this is from my experiences of the country) is also a diverse grouping of distinct provinces with separate cultures and histories, and grouping them all together as one distinct civilization in opposition to modern Indian civilzation is very ridiculous. Any secular scholar will tell you that Balochis and Punjabis have next to nothing in common in terms of history, language or culture (except for religion). I would love your approval as one of my votes of consensus before I make a decision and remove that paragraph. Thank you -User: Afghan Historian

bangla / bengali edit

actually, having done a little research the past few days, it does strike me as odd that we chose to call the language "bangla" throughout the article instead of "bengali". considering that the majority of english references to the language say "bengali", and that most english dictionaries do not even include an entry for "bangla" but do include "bengali", and that sil's ethnologue, the ucla language archive, and most linguistics papers all use "bengali", i wonder if our decision is sort of arbitrary, as noted by that reader in the bengali Talk page.

personally, i don't care too much if we say "bangla" throughout the article, because it is not "wrong" to do so... but i do sympathize with people who think that it is arbitrary and/or misleading. what do you think? --SameerKhan 05:00, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Acharya S and blockade edit

Ragid, the Acharya S arutlce is baised. Thats why I reverted it shorly after radministered. In fact, tis vandalised. You may think ( Due to mechaniaitosn by the Acharya DIsiples) that Im some hideous Monster. I know CHarles MAthews does. However, read the article itsslef. CUrrently, it states that "At least one Critic and several Detractors from the Apologest Camp" critise her work. It also mentiosn "Rave reviews". THe poitn of these edits is to slant the article in favour of Acharya S. THey also omited a link that is not favourable to her.

THis is Vandalism.

Menawhile, the disiples continue to smear me. ( Yes they say I smear them and Acharya. I dont. I say things they dotn like, but Ive yet to smear nayone.) Arbitration againt me is based on supposed violation fo her privacy, and yet the "Evidence' Gathered by James is mainly aboutthings I said they disagree with, not relevant ot the case.

Plese see through this, and, as I cant rever tit owutlung beign banned, can you please at leats revert the aritlcde? Its right now Biased.

I mean, coem on! I only reverted it due to this crap. Its basd enough that it was locked in a biase dmean before, not its goign to sit their for how long before soemone else relaises this is a biased aritlce?

Anyhtign not in favour of Acharya S will be objected to and attacked. I am attacked.

Im not a monster, as Im claimed to be. THats just an excuse. Im not makign ersonal attakcs agint editors or even the subject. But surely tellign peopel that hr claims are not base dona cadmeic merit isnt liable, as he admits this herslef. And postign a link relevant to her is not liable. Removignthe link and postign flattery is Vandalism however.

ZAROVE 19:36, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

As Predicted. edit

They are firther editin the aritlce, with impunity. If I edit it Ill likely be blocked again, but Im gpign to.

Look, this is not a personal grudge here. You and CHarles Mathews both here compalonts form the DIsiples agisnt me. But had I lef thtye woudl have run everyoen else off too. By now you shoudl relaise they only wanted rid of me to have their way wiht this aritlce. And its working. My supposed threat to her wasn't much. I offered to prodice a website with my aritlce I wrote on her. And write anothe ron her.

This was because they would not accp the othe rlinks. SLowly they ar permutatign the aritlce as they want.

And because htiers mro thna one they avoid the three revert rule.

Its orchestrated in Mailing list, and tyey simply want to contorle the content on Wikipeida.

This snt an edit war, the Acharya Disiples are vandals.

This version, and now its "Imprivements" has been up a week already.

Let me revert it. CHarles in email said I was in a flas epositionf or making the threat, Im prety sure he bel;eives the hype that Im somehow hostile to this wpman. Im not. Im hotstile to lyign on Wikipedia and usign Wikipeida as a Platform for Propoganda.

Likewisd, you have probabely a bad opinion fo me as well. But at leats Ive not prodiced a Siliberatley POV article, as they have.

Please see this as Vandalsim, which is it, and allow me to fix it soince you two wont.

Thanks :) I started making "native language" versions of my maps, and I finally decided to try inserting them in the other wikipediae. PS, three of the Bangladesh divisions on the bn wikipedia don't have maps, but since I don't know the language, I don't want to try adding them with the proper captions. B'desh edit

Yo Ragibbhai - I think B'desh article is more than ready for FAC. Please don't hesitate to start the process, becoz now any poignant criticism will only come in FAC. Great work with the pics and everything! The only visible problem is formatting - many paras are far apart from the section headers becoz of misformatted pics, etc. Please fix dat.

what's a better article name, Awards for Satyajit Ray/Awards of Satyajit Ray, from a grammatical pov?--ppm 05:30, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you could edit

Uusally blockign me works tot he Acharyites advantage. Much liek the fresing the page did as it was invariabley frozen on a verison of theirs, excpet for one instance.

Now, the Acharya S articld is usulaly biased. It contaisn a superflous paragraph that says she gets rave revies and ha rpvien rleigion to be myth and not true, minimalises critism to her, linsk to her page too often, omits a link to a source because its ntot favoruable to her, and removes needed informaiton while adding superflous and self-promotional drivel. It also omits hte basis of her claims ot beign " An archeologist ect..."

This isnt an edit war. Im not an inflamatory agent. ( thoghth Im accuse doof such.) But ven you can see that the page is Bias when he Acharya Disiples get hopld of it, and as theirs more of them than me they usulaly win out.

Cna you assit? I know you liekly hve a dim veiw of me as wlel. Thatw as wlell crafted by the disiples.

But, look at the version I do. COmpare ift to thei verison.

They vandalise the artilce. And it is vandlaism.

ZAROVE 17:04, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

This gets old/ edit

Look. About the Acharya S aritlce. I reverted again. Ban me if you like, but tis clealry vandalism. Not POV editing, whih alone is also a bad thing. Im not such a bad guy. Im not out to destroy Acharya S. Im not rlelay inflamign the situation.

But, sayign that she ha sonly one critic and several detractors form the apologist camp is obviosu Bias. Removal of links is Bias. Addign the "Rave Reviews" paragraph is Bias. Its repuroduiced below.

She has received rave reviews from readers across the spectrum, from those on the edge of doubt about their religons to those having some familiarity with the unhistorical nature of religon generally. Her books have become popular with avid "truth-seekers" from around the world, eliciting interest from the average person to the professional and academically trained thinkers.

This contains both falsehoods and judgement calls on hat rleigion is. Its not WIkipedias palce to make such calls, but this is the verison that stood for a week, because when I rverted it back I got blocke dfor edit warring.

Again, this isnt an edit war. The above paragrpah is clealry POV. And its obvious that anyhtign I do will be seen as personal attakc or vindictive because the disiles want htier wya.

Revertign Vandalism is not agaisnt Wikipedia rules. THis aritlce is repeatedly Vandalised by the disiples of Acharya S.

Just because they have given me a bad name doesnt mesn Im the one who shoul be punished here.

Please stop them from alterign the ocncensus verison, and reflectign only positive viws of Dorothy Murdock.

The Article shoudl remain Neutral, and not be made into a promotion fo her ideas.

Removal of extra white space and blank lines. No content text has been changed. Check the diff (which doesn't show much, because all AWB did was to remove blank lines/whitespace). Thanks. --Ragib 07:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings)#Spaces "Spaces above and below headings are completely optional", and the Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser#Rules of use advice: "Avoid making extremely minor edits such as adding or removing a single space or replacing an underscore in a template call with a space." --Philip Baird Shearer 07:31, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

What's exactly the problem here? --Ragib 13:52, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove single blank lines from articles after section heading as it is not incorrect and many editors like them (see above) and it can cause the creation of large differences [1](see the section in the diff "Killing of intellectuals"), which makes identifying changes before and after such an AWB difficult. --Philip Baird Shearer 17:11, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey, the photo of the farmer in the field is not well placed! The text has come within 2 images, which is rather bad. Please try to place it in a better position. I think, the coxbazar photo should be replaced with this one. Do it ASAP, it's in FAC, man! (Read BD talk page, I have raised this issue there also). Bye.--Dwaipayanc 16:20, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done. --Ragib 16:28, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
A minor point - there is a dot-like nptation below "T" in Tahkumat Jhuli in "Culture". Is that some sorta phonetic notation?--Dwaipayanc 16:25, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think so. --Ragib 16:28, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Now it looks better. However, do not you think the fisherman at Cox Bazar photo is more suitable for "Economy" section, rather than the beach picture (though the later is more beautiful!). Tourism is not that much important in Economy of BD, as fishery. What do you think?--Dwaipayanc 16:39, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Now it's looking even more appropriate!--Dwaipayanc 16:56, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism on Acharya S and my arbitratoion. edit

You do relaise I wasnt on a ra,page right? Likely nlt, as my reputaiton is tarred. But, the Disioples themselves games the rule by sending multiple trolls form the mailing list.

Be honest now, and read the whole page. Again, Im not beign too terrible here, but as I can no logner edit the Page, lets look at the facts.

2 qurasitons.

1: How long is the barrign me from editign her page for?

2:Can I challenge the verdict?

3: You do relaise you have just been played, right? I didnt threaten to post Liable, I threatened to post an artilce I had written. I also didnt post the material several times, and had not tlake don it for months.

James list of evidence was itsslf ridiculous as most of it was not relaly aimed at the point of arbitration, and one can just as eaisly come up wiht a long list of evidence agsint him.

The bit abotu her son, and how low I was to brign him into it, is also ridiculous. I posted that her son had been kidnapped, and returned to her. This was after she posted a news article on it on her own website. ( And is thus not liable and was verifiable.)

Look at the below. Tell me htis is not Bias, and not vandalism.

How am I disruptive in revertign it?

At least one critic and various detractors from the apologetic camp have claimed her work is based on poor scholarship, with little primary research and heavy reliance on outdated or fringe sources, and shows ignorance of the topics on which she writes, in particular of the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Nevertheless, there is much original research in her work, especially in "Suns of God: Krishna, Buddha and Christ Unveiled," her follow-up to "The Christ Conspiracy."

The Bold sections are Biased. Saying that she has only oen Critic and several detractors fromt he apologist Camp is Biased. Calling her critics detractods is biased. Saying that she "NEvertheless has origional research" is bais. It is nto WIkipeidas palce to determine if her owrk is origional or not. Her critics say it is not. (Critics, not detractors.)

Sayin that it is as a point-of-fact is a bais.

Acharya S has been described, by her own books, and website, as well as the Paranoia Magazine website, as a historian, mythologist, religious scholar, linguist(she speaks, reads and writes several ancient and modern languages), and archeologist with moderate undergraduate experience in Archeology. Internet essayist John Kaminski describes her as "the ranking religious philosopher of our era".

The Kamanski quote exists only to further boost her image. The statement baotu spekaign more thna one language is not rlelay relevant, and the Omisison of the reason WHY she is claimed ot be " A Historian, Religiosu Shclar, Archeologist, and Lingust" is not preasent. ( Ys you say she speaks multiple languages. But no other explanaiton rellay eixts.)

It is entrley promotional.

The ommission of the fac thtat she hodls no trianign in any of these fields, and is only these thigns "By DIcitonary definition", the argument her supporters made her to forc the ridiculosu list in the encyclopidia int he firts place, is biased. Youd o nto want hte reader to know she hodls no degree and try to sway the readers opinion.

THis entire paragrpah is promotional, and thus shoudl not be in the encyclopedia. It exosts only to firther her views.

It is also of import that it claim as a fact that religion is Ahistorical, which is not Wikipeidas palce.

It also seems not to be vrified form any known source, and is just a form of marketing.

The Omisison of the link to King David's website was doen soley for the sake of preservign her knoeldgable image. In the exchange, she filed ot rellay defend her views, and so it servs the interests of her legiosn to rmove it.

These are the problems.

As to the version I reverted to, no problems are even listed.

Looks like a lot has been happening while I was away. Anyway, missed the opportunity to see Bangladesh on the Main page. A job well done! On a side note, belated felicitations on the admin position. :) -- urnonav 06:04, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Extremely sorry edit

Dear Rajib, I am extremely sorry to take that long time to reply you back. How are you? You have done a wonderful job. Other day while searching my dad’s article I found this website. And I am surprise to see what they have done. I mean the technology. When I did my Master’s degree my major was web security and programming. But I didn’t practice much. I move to SAP. Currently I am in UK. And yes, I need your help to update my dad’s website.

And Thanks again for your letter. Please keep in touch.

Kind Regards Joya taher

Niaz Morshed edit

Hey I tagged the article before b/c of copyright issues. Since then, i've made some changes and tried to get rid of the violations. Can you take off the tag (i think only an admin can do it) and (if my revisions are sufficient), put my edits in there. btw, is this niaz morshed the same as the singer (trivia?)? Thanks (Love the comment before me!!) -- Abid Ahmed 05:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done. However, you don't have to be an admin to do that. BTW, he's not the singer. Thanks. --Ragib 05:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jinnah FAC edit

Hi - Jinnah is FAC. I decided to move on FAC becoz I believe that all remaining objective criticism will only be obtained there. I ask for your support and welcome all criticism. Rama's Arrow 15:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Non english redirects edit

I have noticed/been notified that you have deleted quite a number of non-english redirect pages (a list is avalible on my talk page). I was wondering if you were willing to undelete them since it isn't in accordance with the speedy deletion criteria.

It is common practice to use redirects to link official names of the organisations, places, tv shows, games, etc to the article with the most comon english name.

--Cool CatTalk|@ 13:45, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, just like Mackensen, I was cleaning a backlog in CSD. I'm not totally sure about the redirect-in-other-languages issue, i.e. whether it is speediable, so I left a clarification request in WP:ANB. I'd be happy to undelete the redirects once the policy regarding this is clarified. Thanks. --Ragib 20:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 09:20, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kolkata edit

Hi! Kolkata is FAC. Please have some say! Bye.--Dwaipayanc 18:09, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ragib bhai! How are you? I have a request. Can you or Schmitra do the IPA pronounciation of Kolkata? I do not know how to do it. That's why asking for help. I've just askes Schmitra also. Bye. Thanks.--Dwaipayanc 19:47, 24 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think SameerKhan (talk · contribs) is the best choice as he is a linguist. He did the IPA pronunciation for Bangladesh and some other pages. Thanks. --Ragib 20:12, 24 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi! It's done. It would be great if SameerKhan (talk · contribs) checks it. I am contacting him. Bye. Thanks.--Dwaipayanc 18:48, 25 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I changed the IPA transcription... I wasn't sure if you wanted the transcription of the Bangla pronunciation or the English pronunciation. What was on there was an English-like pronunciation, but it was linked to an audio file of the Bangla pronunciation, so I changed the IPA transcription to match the audio file it's linked to. If you want an IPA transcription of the English, I can do that too, but I really don't know how native English speakers pronounce the name (I can look this up), since it's a relatively new spelling for English. I'm guessing it won't have the theta sound though, simply due to English spelling. Anyhow, let me know if you want to keep the Bangla pronunciation or if I should change it back to some sort of English version. --SameerKhan 08:10, 27 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Persian Jews article was unprotected today, but a full-scale edit war has resumed again. Can you please protect it again before the situation escalates? Thanks. —Khoikhoi 08:08, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Right at this moment, there doesn't seem to be any edit warring (at least in the last few hours). I'll keep an eye on it, and in case the edit wars start again, I'll protect it. Thanks. --Ragib 08:21, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
