  Hello, I'm Wiae. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Lui Che-woo have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 13:48, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Wiae,

I understand your point. Yet, what I updated was factual and I have added appropriate references. I believe that my entry was a fair description of Dr. Lui Che Woo and I intended to enhance the existing content in business career of Dr. Lui as well as edit Awards and honours and other achievements based on what I read from the news.

May you state which part of my entry was promotional? I am willing to make further amendment in order to make the content acceptable to Wikipedia.

Thanks a lot.

Dear Diannaa,

I understand your concern, yet, can you be more specific about which parts of my entry violate the rules? i.e. which sentences/parts appear to be a direct copy from the corporate website?

I consider what I input truthful and factual, but I'm willing to enhance and make amendment. May you please provide me with further guidelines.

Thank you very much for your time.

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Rachel Ko. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Citobun (talk) 14:23, 25 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Also, may I know the reason why my update of picture was reverted? As far as I know, on Dr. Lui Che-woo's Chinese wiki page the same picture (as the one I updated) was used. Best regards, Rachel KoRachel Ko (talk) 08:11, 29 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dear Citobun,

May I know if you have any comments on the part that I proposed? If comments are not provided by next Monday, I'll edit this page again and replace it with the above proposed as I assume what I proposed is fine. Thank you very much.

Rachel Ko, you still have not clarified your conflict of interest per WP:PAID, in potential violation of the Wikimedia Foundation Terms of Service. Secondly, Wikipedia has no "editorial team", only volunteer editors like myself. Lastly, please review our policy at WP:NOTPROMOTION. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a vehicle for promotion. Your text is not appropriate for an encyclopedia – it is promotional in tone and not balanced. If you hold a conflict of interest it is highly recommended that you don't edit on the relevant subject. Thanks, Citobun (talk) 07:47, 2 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
