September 2012 edit

Hello, I'm WikHead. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Ek Tha Tiger, because to me it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.  -- WikHead (talk) 09:57, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Jism 2. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.  -- WikHead (talk) 10:00, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Jism 2. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Re: how to add references? edit

Thanks for your response. I would gladly assist you with adding references to articles, but it appears that you are trying to promote your own website (ie. inappropriate spam-links). This is strictly against wiki-policy, and something I cannot assist you with. Sorry it has to be this way. Please follow the links in my messages above to learn more. Regards,  -- WikHead (talk) 10:14, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "RICKYBADBOY", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, institution, company or website. Please note that you may only edit on behalf of yourself, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or have the appearance of shared use. Please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. NTox · talk 22:56, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Roach Killa, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Your username edit

Hi. You asked why your username is inconsistent with policy. The reason is because our standards do not usually allow usernames that are unambiguous names of websites - it seems clear in this case that your name is representative of rickybadboy.com. The name would probably be okay if the website was more personally tied to you, but since the site appears to be run by multiple people ("Contact Us", and so on are links on your site), your name implies shared use and implies that you are writing on behalf of the website. This is also disallowed. At this point, I would kindly ask you to create a new account. Thanks. NTox · talk 16:47, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
