Responding to help request

Hi Quokka17, I saw your help request on my talk page. Largely, it depends on the context in which you are using the source. Firstly, in order to justify writing a biography about Eberhardt, we must prove that she is notable. There needs to be significant coverage of her in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Alternately, we need to demonstrate that their work is highly significant, and that she meets at least one of these criteria.

Once you've established that Eberhardt is notable with your multiple reliable and independent sources, it can be useful to "fill in some of the gaps" using sources that biased (in this case, authored by the subject). For example, you could have a sentence saying, "Eberhardt states that her most important accomplishment is X," citing that with a work she authored where she makes that kind of claim. Or "Eberhardt became interested in psychology due to Z reasons", similarly citing some of her own words on the subject. I hope this is helpful, but let me know if I can provide more clarity.
