 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers,  — Archer (t·c) 09:21, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 edit

Discussions about improving the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 article go on the talk page Talk:Alaska_Airlines_Flight_1282. Note that we report what reliable sources say. Your concerns are not going to be incorporated into the article unless and until reliable sources report on them. Wikipedia does not get into speculation or expressing, in Wikivoice, its concerns. We do not have an agenda to bring attention to matters; that is for reliable sources to do. So, I am not sure you are going to get on Wikipedia what you want. There are numerous places on the internet where such speculations and theories are discussed, but Wikipedia is not one of those. I hope this explanation helps you understand. Thank you and Happy editing.  — Archer (t·c) 09:30, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Archer, Well, OK. thanks for the reply. Why were the external links removed? Do you intend to reformat them and republish? I would think that the EASA type certificate data sheet given in the external reference is a "reliable source", and it indicates the 737-900ER has the mid cabin door. This is also visible in a photo posted 12 years ago here (https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=770323) so this seems to be a reliable fact. So wikipedia could state as fact something like "The Boeing 737-900ER also has a door plug, but to date this aircraft has not been mentioned by the NTSB or the FAA in the context of this incident." all factual, relevant, and from reliable sources. Hi @QualityMattersJoe. It looks like you may have been logged out when you replied as your IP address is visible. In any event, I encourage you to go to the talk page at Talk:Alaska_Airlines_Flight_1282 and ask if those links are appropriate to be added. WP:ELPOINTS contains some important points to keep in mind about adding external links that you might want to read and keep in mind. Happy editing.  — Archer (t·c) 10:13, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
