Final Warning

edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia.

Facts

edit

Hello Purleau1 -- The author Philip Roth had a beef with Wikipedia, too. He tried to correct an article about himself. It was reverted. He complained, asking who could be a more authoritative source on Philip Roth than Philip Roth? His request was turned down on two bases: (1) the anonymity of WP editors didn't allow him to prove he was Philip Roth and moreover, (2) WP only accepts secondary and tertiary sources as reliable. He was told he needed someone else to write about him and the disputed assertion in a recognized publication. That would do as a reliable source. The truth was not the issue. So he wrote a letter to the New Yorker [1]. Being from Roth, of course it was published. Lots of other publications picked up the story, giving the Wikipedia editors something to work with. You are in the same boat. Now that you've declared a conflict of interest (you and your director of communications are, I suppose, paid by the school), you can request changes on the talk page, but you may not make them yourself. Hammond School

edit

I've added some information about the Hammond's school's scholarships for minority students. If you have suggestions for relevant material, please list it on the talk page with citations and non-COI editors will consider adding it. You may want to review the guidelines on school articles for an idea of what kind of information can be included.

I also see that you have disputed the reliability of some of the sources used in the Hammond school's. Please feel free to add your concerns about specific sources in more detail on the article's talk page.

Finally, here is some general information that may help you communicate with other editors:

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you.
