Diapers
editThe correct name for that shape which is like two equilateral traingles is a "diaper". It is an heraldic term. Although the word "diamond" is often used, it isn't correct, but it has probably come about because in heraldry a diaper was sometimes used to represent a jewel.

- Responded on Amandajm's talk page --Psud (talk) 11:21, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- The development of diaper windows was in part due to the fact that three regular diamond-shaped panes could be conveniently cut from a piece of Crown glass, with minimum waste and with minimum distortion.
- I like this wording. can you fix it? I'm in the middle of something! ...Amandajm (talk) 11:38, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- You're perfectly correct in your use of the term. Apparently it means a type of cloth with that sort of pattern in its weave, which was used for babies' napkins (as well as other things.) ;-)...Amandajm (talk) 13:21, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Spud! Now what about getting yourself a user page? All you need to do is click on your own nname, and you'll find an unmade one waiting for you! Cheers! Amandajm (talk) 08:58, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

- Is that pronounced the same as "spewed" or differently? A spud is a potato... boring, I know, but relatively harmless! We used to have a dog called Spud. The name didn't suit him at all. He ought to have been called Rover. (defintitely not Fido) He was a very handsome black retriever. He liked cars rather a lot, but we didn't own one. Last time I saw Spud, he was sitting in the front seat of a Mercedes Benz, with one paw on the window rim, his tongue waving, his ears blowing in the wind and a great grin all over his deceitful, home-and-family deserting face. His was on his way down the Great Western Highway and into the Big Bad City. We never saw him again! Amandajm (talk) 08:29, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Distilled?!
editDid you really mean to say that malt liquor is distilled?!? Around here, malt liquor is just beer. It's not distilled. I'm unable to find any references to distilled beverages that are called "malt liquor". Friday (talk) 16:54, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Blacksmithing+hair answer
editThanks for your feedback Psud. I often go out on a limb with my answers, so some are way off the mark, and others score a hit. So take my responses with care, and see if others have comments on my comments! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:43, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Could it be that you are from Canberra? (like me). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:47, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- It wasn't me in '95. However we should invite you to the next Canberra wikipedia reunion! And you can set up your user page with a special template to say that also. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:08, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Minor edits
editPlease remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. --Matilda talk 18:11, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Australian Fire Service
editI saw that you started some posts on here on the Australian fire service. However, your name has a line through it. What does that mean? You lost interest? I am looking for people that would be interested in starting an australian fork off of our wiki (thefirewiki.org)... would you be interested? Let me know on my talk page. --Mfinney (talk) 05:57, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Your intervention
edit...on a closed, collapsed discussion was either in ignorance of, or disregarded, the editors' discussion on the Project Talk Page. The matter was not as a (subjectively called) "stupid question" as you stated, but a violation of WP:CRYSTAL BALL and possible soapboxing. Before intervening in how it was displayed, I suggest you propose an action before taking it summarily. That's part of how the Ref Desks work. -- Deborahjay (talk) 11:46, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

You're invited to the Canberra WikiMeetup on 20 November 2011
editHi! We're having a Canberra Wikimeetup on 20 November 2011 at Siren Bar in Gunghalin from 2pm to 4pm. It's most just a chance to chat with other local Wikipedians, get a chance to go a different sort of bar (which is reasonably kid friendly, serves real food, and has non-alcholic options), and, if you're interested, learning more about what Wikimedia Australia and local GLAM projects are happening. We'd love to see you and any Wikipedia/Wikimedia/wiki loving friends you have there. --LauraHale (talk) 07:19, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Hi. You're invited to Wikipedia Takes the Australian War Memorial on 25 August at the Australian War Memorial. --LauraHale (talk) 00:19, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

March 2023
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Carnivore diet. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 03:11, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- I agree with reverting this user's edit but how is this editing warring LMAO, he literally made two edits to the page. Rodistron1 (talk) 18:38, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
