Speedy deletion nomination of Davenports edit

A tag has been placed on Davenports requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Primary Sources edit

Hi. The source you cited on Tim Bray is what we call a Primary Source. While they're better than nothing, we generally try to avoid them. Toddst1 (talk) 22:41, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ebbsfleet Development Corporation edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ebbsfleet Development Corporation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. @DGG: Might we have the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation restored, please. DevCos being added by Psd are notable governemnt organisations for which there are a plaurality of reliable sources & underlying legislation. We'll make it AfD proof. thx. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:07, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
I see another admin has restored to to draft space. You might want to take a look at related articles: some seem POV. And usually members of the board are excessively detailed content except for the most famous organisations. . DGG ( talk ) 06:29, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I followed the precedence of other pages I found in this area. These are public bodies, so I would have thought listed board members, many of who are in government, are of public interest, but understood about the marketing materials which I had started to weed-out. --Psd (talk) 10:22, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

West Northamptonshire Development Corporation edit

I see two problems here:

The information seems outdated, and the refsare the Corporation's own PR releases. DGG ( talk ) 04:07, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I agree. I tried to introduce better sources for the existing content, but a lot of it seems to be about what they planned to do, rather than did. I'll take another look, as I'm getting more confident as a contributor --Psd (talk) 08:24, 4 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Davenports moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Davenports, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hartlepool Development Corporation moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Hartlepool Development Corporation. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoraVoro (talk) 11:08, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for moving it to a draft rather than just deleting it. I would have thought the references I provided for this newly formed public body, including a link to a statutory instrument creating the legal entity would have been sufficient. I'm sure more references will emerge shortly as the body starts its work. Psd (talk) 14:36, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
