Adding a section to your course page
editThe course page wizard you used to set up your course page assumes a pretty basic structure, but what it does essentially is it sets up three separate wiki pages (for description, timeline, and grading) that all get copied into the main course page. You can add sections by editing any of those separate pages and adding sections there. To access those pages, use the [Edit] links at the top of the Description section, the top of the Timeline section, or the top of the Grading section. Then you can add sections the same way you would on other wiki pages.
Alternatively, you can press edit on the course page at the top, and add new sections in the Description box that will appear beneath the course page wizard content. Let me know if any of that is too confusing or you have trouble.--Sage Ross (WMF) (talk) 20:15, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Topic Shift and Project Proposal
editDr. Vandegrift, you will see that I shifted my topic a bit to focus on the way that youth form identity through musical preference. I plan to use my expertise in nueva canción as a lens through which to view this topic, however, I was simply unable to find a youth angle that I could feel confident about. Nueva canción really had participants and artists that were adults (married and sometimes with young children). I hope this new focus can allow me to do justice to both projects.
I also was slightly unclear about the assignment's purpose. I formatted my comments as a topic proposal, not a first draft of my Wikipedia submission. I hope that is what the goal of the assignment was. If not, please let me know and I would be happy to revise it. KLi 32 (talk) 20:38, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Laura Plumb Introduction
editProfessor Vandegrift, Thanks for the feedback on my potential topics. I've responded to your comments on my user page. I'm still trying to get the hang of this Wikipedia editing, so let me know if the page isn't working for you! Thanks, Plumbla (talk) 22:47, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Courtney Howell Introduction
editProfessor Vandegrift,
I have no idea if I am presenting the information on this page correctly, but this is my (Courtney Howell) user name on Wikipedia! I look forward to learning the ins and outs of Wikipedia in our class! Court caitlin (talk) 00:03, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
Ashley Thompson
editI gained an interests in Cambodia after studying abroad there and in Thailand for 2 months each. I have had first hand experience with youth inside the country and would love to see what information I am able to find here, and to share with the world.

editProfessor Vandegrift, thank you for your feedback. I think that I would like to do more research into the transitions of youth in Russia after being in foster care or an orphanage. Otherwise I am willing to look into another one of your suggestions! Let me know if you think it would be better for me to pursue one of those! --Rbachman (talk) 18:24, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

editThank you for your feedback, Professor Vandegrift. I explored the article on the Mental Health of Refugee Children you suggested, and I am interested in writing about the educational experiences of a specific refugee population. Right now, the article is very Eurocentric in its writing style and only specifically addresses the education of Vietnamese refugees in Canada and the United States. Do you think it would be beneficial research the educational experiences of a different refugee population in America or a refugee population in another country? Thank you! --MKassmeier (talk) 20:22, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Melholle introduction
editWell I think that I am starting to get the hang of figuring out how to work Wikipedia, it's kind of something we all have to just jump into and get our feet wet sort of thing. Now that I am feeling more comfortable I am excited to work on this project with you. See you tonight in class! Melholle (talk) 21:09, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Maggie Sandquist Introduction.
editProfessor Vandegrift, Thank you so much for your feedback. I was wanting to introduce myself on Wikipedia, but also let you know what I have been thinking about my topic. I still want to focus on juvenile violent crime rates and/or juvenile justice. I would like to focus on Mexico, but am not sure if their will be a lot of information. If not I figured I would study Australia or the UK. Let me know what you think about that! Introducing Myself
editProfessor Vandegrift, thank you for your feedback! I found a book called, Revolution 2.0 that talks about the youth activism in Egypt during the Revolution. I'm thinking of adding to the article of youth activism since so far it only have the United States. Ellieb281 (talk) 05:09, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Ellie Brown
Jess Walther Introduction
editHi Professor! I appreciate the suggestions you offered on my talk page for reality television for youth in China. In the next day or so, I plan to investigate more on that topic and find an appropriate article to add onto. I'm hoping to have all my ducks in a row by class time on Wednesday. Thanks! 173.29.211.242 (talk) 21:01, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Adding articles to the course page
editHello Professor Vandegrift. I've confirmed that only students are able to add articles on the course page. You should be able to delete them though. Also, the {{course assignment}} template need only be added to talk pages. Gobōnobō + c 23:01, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
