Notability of Anirban Mitra

A tag has been placed on Anirban Mitra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

This is a repeat of my response to your note on the talk page of the article, as it is a candidate for deletion and may disappear.

At Wikipedia, writing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. WP:Autobiography is a guideline that explains why. If you and your work are notable enough, and sufficient reliable sources exist to write an article that conforms to our core policies of verifiability (WP:V) and a neutral point of view (WP:NPOV), someone else will eventually write the article. gnfnrf (talk) 11:46, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
