Welcome! edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! ConnectNY edit

I received an email from you recently. In general, I prefer to have discussions about editing of Wikipedia pages on Wikipedia itself, whether article talk pages or user talk pages such as this one.

You mentioned that you are the Executive Director of an organization. This means you have a conflict of interest and I urge you to read our guideline which outlines our standards relevant to you: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

I did not know that you are associated with the organization at the time I reverted your edit. however, my reversion was not based on your position but on the content of the edit. It included material clearly taken from a copyrighted source. Wikipedia great respect copyright cannot permit material to be used which contravenes are copyright policy.

I do appreciate that you are trying to correct errors in an article. Given your knowledge, you are in a unique position to help us improve the article. However, because of your conflict of interest it's preferable that you identify improvements and corrections to the talk page of the article rather than directly editing the article.

To help you with this process, I'll provide a direct link to the talk page of the article:

In order to add a comment to the talk page, click on "new section" add your comment to the large empty box (sign your comment by adding ~~~~ at the end), add a subject or headline and then click on "publish changes".

It is highly likely that simply posting on the talk page won't get noticed by enough people, so add the following template which will bring the request to the attention of a broader group of editors:
