Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 02:07, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:RebeccaMaderAtGoldenGlobes.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:RebeccaMaderAtGoldenGlobes.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stemoc 03:56, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your identity edit

Unfortunately there have been many strange cases of trolling, impersonation, and false copyright claims on Wikipedia in the past, so people tend to be overly suspicious. To clear this up, would you be willing to post one of your images to Twitter or Instagram with a CC BY-SA copyright notice? That would help confirm your identity, allow us to clear up the images' copyright status and generally resolve this.

If you do, send me a link on my talk page and I'll get started fixing this. Sorry it's been so much trouble. —Guanaco 07:03, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ah I see you responded on the image talk page. Thanks. I'll get to work, and I'll talk to the other users involved. —Guanaco 07:05, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Guanaco. I really appreciate your help. Here is the link to the tweet:https://twitter.com/marcuskayne/status/867999762468921344

Rebecca also retweeted my tweet from her account. You can verify that too by checking her account on twitter @bexmader

I've also asked for you to be unblocked from Wikimedia Commons and your images undeleted, and I explained the situation to everyone involved. I think everything's set. Sorry things got so ugly. If anything else goes wrong, send me a message and I'll see what I can do.
By the way, I still have Wicked Always Wins stuck in my head. —Guanaco 07:30, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

I forgot to mention, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest is a policy that might apply. Some good guidelines there if you're contributing to her article. In short, it's best if you don't edit the article yourself, but instead propose changes on the talk page, disclosing that you're her husband. —Guanaco 07:37, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

I love it, that's awesome! I just told Rebecca and you put a big smile on her face. I also appreciate the guidance. Thanks so much Guanaco!

Hi Gaunaco, the user Stemco just changed the image again. This person will not give up. Can you please help?

I think the question now is that these might be professional photos, taken by a photographer other than you. He's saying that this is from the same set as this, but cropped. The black shadow in the photo being your suit.
If someone else took the original photos, even Rebecca couldn't upload them without written permission from the photographer. —Guanaco 08:25, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

These are not professional photos, they are photos from my iPhone 6. I took the photo currently in the wikipedia. The photo that Stemco provided you a link to was a different photo from my photo that I tweeted on January 14, 2016. Please compare the 2 photos and you will see the current photo and the one in the link Stemco provided are not the same.

I don't think anyone's claiming it's the exact same photo. The claim is that they're similar and you cropped another photo taken by the same photographer. I want to shut this debate down if we can; do you have an unedited version? I might be able to prove it's an iPhone photo with that. —Guanaco 08:38, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Another Wikipedia rule you should know, Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. If you revert or reinstate an edit more than three times in a day, the admins can block you at their discretion. I told Stemoc the same thing. For now let other people make the decision on which image is used, so we avoid that. —Guanaco 08:54, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Guanaco, I woke up this morning to see that Stemoc did it again. This is trolling behavior and should be stopped. Due to the multiple revisions, an administrator protection has now been placed on the page. Let's straighten this out once and for all. I can get written permission for the other photo my friend took with my iPhone of the two of us -- the photo Stemoc provided the link to. My friend's name is Jerry Mark and he was head of Security for the Hollywood Foreign Press at the Golden Globes. What do you need from him? Thanks

This is actually new to me, a procedure I didn't know about before. I'm told there's a policy specifically for this situation over at Wikimedia Commons, called OTRS or Commons:Open-source Ticket Request System. This can be done by web-form or by email. —Guanaco 22:54, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
When you reply to me I'll see it faster if you link my name like [[User:Guanaco|]]. This alerts me whenever I'm logged in to Wikipedia; otherwise I have to check back here. —Guanaco 22:59, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Rebecca Mader on the Red Carpet of Golden Globes.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Rebecca Mader on the Red Carpet of Golden Globes.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
