Image copyright problem with Image:30ArmoredBdeDUI.jpg
editThank you for uploading Image:30ArmoredBdeDUI.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 00:23, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be good to have your feedback/comments on the drive at the Tag & Assess workshop
Thanks again for your help, --ROGER DAVIES talk 11:17, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Image:COTS_Approach.jpg
editHi there... You recently uploaded Image:COTS Approach.jpg, which is generally great and appropriate for the article, but which you tagged as Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 licensed.
The Orbital Sciences image license page here does not say its images are generally CC Att 3.0 licensed; they have a noncommercial, custom license, which should allow our use of it just fine but is not the license you selected at all.
Can you clarify: Where did Orbital release that image with a CC license on it, or was that image license tag a mistake? We can simply re-label the license and include proper credit if that's the case, and no harm done. But we do absolutely need to get the right license info on the image - having the wrong license info stay there is a serious abuse of their copyright.
Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 02:48, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just for completeness' sake, I think that this applies to Image:TaurusII Wallops.jpg as well. Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 02:58, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've added the {{Non-free fair use in | Article}} tag along with a rationale for both images. PistolPete037 (talk) 21:19, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Army National Guard
editHi, Im currently working to create OrBat graphics for all the Army National Guard divisions (i.e. 34th Infantry Division (United States)#Current Structure or 35th Infantry Division (United States)#Current Structure, but as the National Guard is currently restructuring it is extremly difficult to find the necessary information. As of now I have done my best and created the follwoing 5 graphics:
- 28th Infantry Division
- 29th Infantry Division
- 34th Infantry Division
- 35th Infantry Division
- 42nd Infantry Division
most likely there will be some errors - if you have the time and knowledge could you please have a look and check for errors and/or omissions? Thank you very much. Also I will work on the 36th, 38th and 40th Divisions over the week and do hope that you could have a look at the Army National Guard#Divisions list and check if they listed brigades are correct. Also if you have some information regarding the units of the brigades of the aforementioned 3 divisions, this would massively help me in my endeavor. thanks, --noclador (talk) 22:29, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't know how much I can help you with this. The only reason that I know so much about the 30th HBCT is because I am assigned to the unit. I was, however, able to find this: [[1]]. Starting on page 156 it lists all of the divisions in the ARNG and the BCTs that are attached to them. Unfortunately it doesn't get below brigade level in the structure, but it's a start. PistolPete037 (talk) 20:01, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, one more thing. You may have already tried this, but often times the websites for the Guard for each state will have some sort of organizational chart that does break it down to at least the battalion level. PistolPete037 (talk) 20:06, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Pete, thanks for your help - the link you provided is the structure with all the 34 Brigades of the ANG - from October on there will be just 28 Brigades left - some as separate Brigades and some as one of three Brigade Combat Teams of the 8 ANG Divisions. As of now nobody seems to now for sure which three Brigades besides the 26th IBCT, the 92nd IBCT and the 218th HBCT will transform into Maneuver Enhancement Brigades. Also the Divisions homepages and many NG pages are out of date by years! Therefore I asked you and other serving National Guard soldier for help. As you are assigned to 30th HBCT - could you verify the Brigades units here. Also if you could check which units will make up the 29th Div. in the future would be a great help, because the 58th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is transforming into a Battlefield Surveillance Brigade and another Brigade will take the 58ths place in the 29th Div. - but which Brigade??? --noclador (talk) 21:38, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- As far as the 30th HBCT is concerned, I can't find anything wrong. If you used the 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team (United States) Wiki page as a source then everything should be accurate as I wrote that page. As for the rest of the 29th Infantry Division, I couldn't possibly tell you what units will replace the 58th and 92nd IBCTs in the 29th ID. Unfortunately, I've been preoccupied with my own brigade's upcoming deployment that I haven't been paying attention that much to the unit shuffling that has been going on in the rest of the Guard.

editArmy Units
editHello, I happened to notice that you've been doing work on several articles related to American military units. That has been my area of expertise during my time here on Wikipedia, as well. I also am one of the GA Nomination reviewers who looks over GA work. I just thought I'd let you know that I'd be willing to help out if you needed anything, as I have specialized in improving the quality of US Army units on Wikipedia. -Ed!(talk)(Hall of Fame) 20:42, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Ed! I've been focusing mainly on the North Carolina Army National Guard since it is what I know. I know a lot about the subject, but because a lot of my knowledge is first hand, it would be considered original research here. I've been having a tough time finding open source information on the NCARNG. One of the things that I've been trying very hard to do is to find copies of some of the Army Lineage Series books. Those books have the best information on official unit histories. I know how to get an official print copy through the Government Printing Office, however their books can get a tad bit expensive. If you could point me in the direction of a .pdf file for them I would greatly appreciate it. In turn, if there is any unclassified information you need from an Army field manual (i.e. unit organization charts, ect.) I can do the research for you. Right now I am very busy with college and will be so for the next several months, however I will help in any way I can if I have the time. PistolPete037 (talk) 21:25, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
