Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Pinki Virani. Some specific issues with your edits

Hello again - just to clarify some of the reasons why your edits were reverted, it was not merely because you were editing the article about yourself. The edit would have had to be reverted regardless of who made it, for reasons including (but not limited to) the following:

• The edit introduced claims and statements that violated Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy.
• The edit removed tags requesting that references be added to support the information in the text, without adding any sources.
• The edit added further unsourced information - this may seem odd if you have added information about yourself, because obviously you would know these things, but Wikipedia's main principle is verifiability, and information about living people in particular must be supported by reliable independent sources.
• The edit removed some parts of a direct quotation from a source. Quoted text within quotation marks must be reproduced exactly the way it is written in the source.

Dear Pinki Virani, once again, please do not edit the article about yourself directly. You are more than welcome to point out any inaccuracies in the article on its talk page, because obviously we do not want inaccurate information in Wikipedia. I am not going to revert your entire edit this time, but it has to be heavily modified; in the interest of saving people's time it would be better if, in the future, you could use the article's talk page to discuss any changes you would like to see instead of implementing them, since other editors will always have to go through them due to your conflict of interest. Also note that text must never be copied straight from the source into a Wikipedia article, unless it is a direct quotation (within quotation marks), and such quotations should be used very sparingly. Obviously doing something wrong but am not technically that proficient. Content is structured and ready for her to see -- updated,factually corrected, with all the citations --now how do I send it to her? Please let me know. Thank you for writing to me. This gives me the opportunity to work with you and ensure that there is accuracy and no more slanted information inserted under my name. [For example, under Passive Euthanasia where those who are anti-choice and do not wish for anyone to die with dignity, have in fact skewed the legal context and quoted selectively from other parts of the entire Supreme Court judgement. The Supreme Court Judgement-Guidelines-Law is fully downloaded in Wiki References on the page.]

The best way for you to suggest changes to the article is by posting them to the article's talk page, which you find at Talk:Pinki Virani (or by clicking the "Talk" tab at the top of the article Pinki Virani. It is impractical to send article changes directly to an individual editor - I am no more responsible for this article than anybody else, I just happen to have edited it a few time recently. Thanks Ms Bonadea for your reply. Tried yesterday to upload all the points at once [am, obviously, a bit challenged in this department and it did not work :-)]. Am sure Wiki will appreciate that my work is not one-dimensional -- I am not just a bestselling Author [in itself a huge achievement], as is obvious -- and Wiki will be equally interested in conveying the facts. Correction 1 with explanation for why so.

Pinki Virani (born 30 January 1959) is an Indian writer, journalist, human-rights activist and author who has won critical acclaim for her books Once Was Bombay; Aruna's Story: The True Story Of A Rape & Its Aftermath; Bitter Chocolate: Child Sexual Abuse in India (which won the National Award), Deaf Heaven[1] and Politics Of The Womb -- The Perils Of Ivf, Surrogacy & Modified Babies (which is a global-first in international book publishing)[2]. The activist-author has also been a part of two of India’s landmark laws: POCSO (protection of children from sexual abuse) and Passive Euthanasia.

Explanation for above: have given full names of the books even though she does not just write books. Proof of the Passive Euthanasia Law is already attached by Wiki on this page in the form of the Supreme Court judgement. That the author-activist has contributed towards the POCSO Act passed in 2012 is very well-known and acknowledged. Google any interview with her on the subject of child sexual abuse from 2010 to 2012 and you will see. Furthermore, the whole thing is documented in the 25th [silver] edition of the book “Bitter Chocolate” which was updated. Nevertheless, here is the latest link.
