Visual Paradox

There's no need to create a new article to tell people of your intentions towards another article. Simply tag the original as undergoing editing then work on it to make it more than a stub. (aeropagitica) 15:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Mann public school

edit

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.Bfigura (talk) 04:47, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles, as you did to Mann public school. Advertising, and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox", is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Bfigura (talk) 04:48, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your picture doesn't seem to want to display properly. Can I help there? (Assuming the picture isn't copyrighted, for legal reasons, copyrighted pictures usually aren't allowed). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:10, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Looks like you got it :-) You can also just reply here, and I'll keep my eye on the page. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:15, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah, that was the problem. Basically you can't just replace things inside the curly brackets (see Wikipedia:Cheatsheet for how to add links). Still though, we usually like to have references from sources other than the subject of the article, so I'd leave the references tag up for now. (In case someone else knows of any). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:21, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yup, what I removed seemed like blatant advertising, which we can't really have. (You're free to add more information, just make sure it's verifiable and neutral sounding. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:22, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
And on that note, I'm going to head to bed soon. If you want any more help, feel free to leave a note on my talk page (please sign it with four tildes (~~~~) so I know who's talking though). Or, if you don't want to wait, type {{helpme}} on your talk page, and someone will come along. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:24, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
