Conflict of interest

edit

I saw your mention of Green Plumbers on the drawing board page. Be careful of the conflict of interest policy. See WP:COI for more. --DThomsen8 (talk) 02:00, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks DThomsen8.

Thank you for your feedback. I have read through the COI pages, along with many others. What I am attempting to do is get an article created for GreenPlumbers USA, and possibly even an article on Green Plumbing. I am really just trying to figure out how to make this happen. I have attempted to make suggestions, but no one has taken me up on it. How can I get an article posted about a company, if no one else is willing to take it, especially with the COI? Thanks. This is a common complaint, but Wikipedia policies are clear about conflicts of interest. Rather than a separate article on GreenPlumbers USA, why not add more material to GreenPlumbers? --DThomsen8 (talk) 12:57, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

GreenPlumbers

edit

I just removed the "More information" section as it was really nothing more than unencyclopedic, promotional, fluff. Also, please make sure that you use edit summaries. Thanks. – ukexpat (talk) 16:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Could you explain why the references were unencyclopedic in nature? I found external sources that were dedicated to the GreenPlumbers company. Do I need more literature type resources? I found one resource that mentioned GreenPlumbers in a book, and you removed that. Just trying to understand and learn how to do these articles. Thanks for the info on the edit summaries, that helped out a lot.Penh35 (talk) 21:34, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
That section looked like a list of quotations about the subject from other sources - they are not references as we use the term here. For WP purposes a reference is something (a book, press coverage, website) that enables the reader to verify statements made in the article. Additionally those references have to come from reliable sources. – ukexpat (talk) 15:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of GreenPlumbers

edit

The article GreenPlumbers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

NN organization, fails the GNG and WP:ORG. Next to no sources found, and none with significant coverage; the only two I did find were namedrops. Seems to be a magnet for adspam, much of which has been excised in the article's history, but much which has still been added in. Notability tagged for over a decade. Created by SPA whose sole Wikipedia activity this was.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
