Reminder edit

Hi Jose Luis González Escobar. Just a reminder: Add to Wikipedia:School and university projects/ITESM Campus Toluca/Shocked Heads, at the section "Group Preferences" the articles which you would like to edit here on Wikipedia; you may browse for articles related to Mexico in Category:Mexico. If you don't quite know what you have to do, follow this link to see how one of your group members finished this task: [1]. Good luck, TomasBat 01:01, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:hello!! edit

Sorry if I took long to reply, PePe 4. Well, simply copy the information and paste it on my talk page, and I would check it; or, you may wish to paste the information on the group page instead, and I would check it all the same. As for uploading a picture into a Wikipedia article, simply save the image on the computer, using "save picture as", click on Special:Upload, and follow the instructions there. But before uploading the file, please tell me what it is about. Is it a logo? A picture of a building? Where did you get the picture? That way, I could tell you if the image is allowed on Wikipedia and, if allowed, what liscense would be required. Good luck, TomasBat 22:30, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Borregos Salvajes edit

The Borregos Salvajes is the name of all the collage sports teams that represent the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) since its foundation in 1943 in different sports like: basketball, volleyball, football and soccer for both men's and women's teams. [1]

The Organización Nacional Estudiantil de Fútbol Americano (National College Organization of American Football) appears as a result of the work of very important football oganizations. In 1970 it took the name of National League and in 1978, ONEFA is finally created. [2]

Along with this organization also was born the Club Deportivo Internacional (International Sports Club). And in 1929 was instituted the first official summon for a championship, by Jorge Braniff. [3]

This was the beginning of football in México. First major league, later the second and third categories, some years later a youth league, etc. [4]

College American Football edit

Borregos Salvajes are best known for the college American Football representations of ITESM campus across Mexico. The three most successful College American Football Borregos teams are those from Campus Estado de México, Campus Monterrey and Campus Toluca. Whenever these three teams meet, the game is considered a derby. [5]

Since the ITESM first competed in the ONEFA, the many Borregos teams have dominated the league, with most of the championships going to one or another ITESM team. However, since these events are only recent, most other participants don't consider the Borregos to have a great history. [6]

Campus Toluca ONEFA Team edit

This team began in the major league in 1995, when most of the players were rookies. In the beginning, their seasons weren’t exactly what they expected, but with the passing of years the team has become more important and more competitive. The players have earned a lot of experience through the games played. In 1997, the team has an administrational change, and with a new head coach they managed to climb to the “10 Grandes” conference. [7]

The first years at the best level were difficult but promising. The team shows the desire of being protagonist and their zeal to improve keeps growing every day. At 2000, another head coach started to lead this team, and with some other committed staff members, they managed to stay at the conference and be one of the most important teams in the league. [8]

These days the team is coming through bad times as a consequence of a problem during a preseason game, but the administration of the ITESM Campus Toluca is trying to fix this issue. In spite of all, this team has the spirit and the hope to come through. [9]

Campus Monterrey ONEFA Team edit

In 1945, a group of young students from an emerging educational institution, came together to create a team of a little known sport called football, for the purpose of complying with an invitation of the newly created team of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Autonomous University of Nuevo León), they never thought that they would be giving birth to an icon of the culture area. [10]

The first classic of this region was played on November 20, 1945, and the team won by marker 12-7. From 1945 to 1947 Borregos compete in a league with the local teams Tigres and Gatos Negros. But thanks to the rapidly growth of football in Monterrey, the second force league was established in 1946. When the first force season 1947-1948 arrived, Borregos under the command of a new head coach, Leroy Willeford obtained their first victory in a first force classic on Nov. 8, 1947. [11]

The next year, on Dec. 11, 1948, Borregos won their first championship in the mayor category. On July 17, 1950, was inaugurated the Estadio Tecnológico (Technological Stadium). Borregos won the mayor league trophy in 1950, 1951, 1953, 1958 and 1959. Borregos were crowned champions in 1962-1964. In 1965 the team was not formed by a decision of the ITESM, but returned the next year. [12]

In 1974, with a new head coach, Julio Ayala, Borregos Salvajes became the new national champions. In 1985, coach Frank inherited a team that will get the crown in 1987, 1988 and 1989, of the National Conference, of the newly created ONEFA. After losing the title despite advancing to the postseason in 1991 and 1992, Borregos Salvajes started the 1993 campaign with the assurance that they were on the right track to achieve its first national champions trophy at the “10 Grandes” conference. [13]

In 1994, Frank González and his team repeated as monarchs of the ONEFA. And since 1996 they began a run that until today is kept alive. They are present at all the major finals of the highest level of student football in Mexico. Currently Borregos Salvajes are renowned throughout the Mexican republic, and their games are viewed through the main television sports channel, ESPN, in the entire continent. [14]

Campus State of Mexico ONEFA Team edit

Since the foundation of the State of Mexico campus in 1976, the sport is regarded as an "essential activity in the comprehensive education of our students." One of the sports that had greater acceptance and support from the campus community has been the Football. [15]

This sport began to take place in the year 1979, in the intermediate category, and in 1984 already had teams in 3 different categories: Youth A, AA and Intermediate, and since 6 years ago Major Category. The major league team began in 1994 participating in the ONEFA. The team won the second place. [16]

In the year 1996 with a record of 11 wins with no defeats, finally the team achieves the championship of the national conference, which gave this team the opportunity to play at the highest level in the country. In the first appearance in the conference, the 4th place was obtained with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses, losing the semifinal. [17]

The year 2000 marked the beginning of what will be the dynasty of Borregos, and in this year they won the more desired title by the players, the championship in the of "10 Grandes " conference. In the following years the team had setbacks since it was never the main goal, however not ceased to be on the first 3 places of the table. [18]

Football its a sport that requires not only strength but also intelligence and especially attitude: not to be overcome, courage and fight against adversity. This is what Borregos Salvajes have demonstrated year after year, because in the past 12 years the team have been involved in 34 finals, of which the team have achieved 22 championships and 12 second places. [19]

Campus Mexico City ONEFA Team edit

Football in Mexico City campus had its origins in the year 1992, the year in which barely combined two categories: Youth "A", and Intermediate. Football was a new sport on the campus, and that is why student’s participation was low. However, there were young people who trusted and formed part of the team since its inception, thus marking the beginning of a joint history, the football as a traditional sport in the Mexico City campus. [20]

The year 1994 marked the beginning of a new phase with the arrival of coach Manuel "Pibe" Vallarí, with his presence there was a restructuring, which made the effort to recruit players from outside the campus, inviting them to play and study within an institution of great prestige and level. [21]

In 1995, Borregos Salvajes played its first championship in the free intermediate category, which prompted the interest and desire to be part of the team to a greater number of students, thereby creating the possibility of launching a mayor league team on campus. [22]

In 1996, Borregos Salvajes obtained the championship of Youth "AA" CONA league, noting that the competitive level of this team was on the rise. In that same year the scholarship program began for student development of football players, which opens the major league team at the campus in 1997, with young players with great potential, the national conference of the ONEFA. [23]

The new stage of football in Mexico City campus began in 1999 with the arrival of head coach, Jaime Antonio Martinez Celaya. For the 2000 season, Borregos Salvajes of were listed as the big favorites to reach the championship, and so they did it, they won the championship that gave him a spot in the “10 Grandes” conference. [24]

Since 2001 until 2004, Borregos Salvajes only were able to win 1 game in the conference. Due to the lack of positive results, the administration decides to hire a new head coach, Mario Revuelta Zúñiga, and immediately the results improve and Youth A team achieves the championship undefeated and major league team managed to win 3 matches, the same story was repeated in 2005. For 2006 an advisory committee was created where both Mexico City campus and Santa Fé campus cooperate together to strengthen the football program and decided to have a new head coach, César Martínez Sánchez. [25]

These days the team is at the "10 Grandes" conference, and they keep working hard and seeking for better results.

I don't have much time to review all the info, but maybe Mschel can. You could, if you wish, be bold and directly make the changes to the article right now, that way I could clearly see all that was changed and check it easier; if their is some grammar mistake or some other little error, it's no problem because most probably another user can fix it, so don't be afraid to directly make changes :) this is a wiki and all errors can be easily fixed. Regarding the images, are they really free? Make sure that their is no copyright protecting them and answer me (before they get deleted). I suppose thay are unfree; if they are, it's no problem because we can add a liscense and a rationale that allows them on Wikipedia. Good luck, TomasBat 20:35, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good, you made the changes. :) Regarding the logo images, I sense they aren't free. On http://www.frailes.com.mx/fraileslinks.html (where you got them) it says at the very bottom of the page "© www.frailes.com.mx (2005 - 2007) / © ragno web design" the copyright sign © protects the images, I think. :/ TomasBat 23:36, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} I wonder if anyone can check the article on Atlacomulco, i am editing this article for my final project and it has to be perfect, i don't know what else to write on but i think that it needs more work, something else could you please help me with the grammar and spelling i will really aprecciate any help you can give me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PePe 4 (talkcontribs) 13:43, November 10, 2007

There are several problems I see. You've added a number of pictures, claiming to release them into the public domain, but it seems unlikely that those are really your pictures--that is, that you took those pictures yourself. The 'Important people' section is entirely unreferenced and isn't written in a neutral tone, nor is it very grammatically correct (e.g. "Great politician and writer agriculture"). As well, the tourism section reads like a travel guide, and not an encyclopedia article. You may want to ask for detailed commentary at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback. --Sopoforic 18:16, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
