Proposed deletions of Greenroute 4, Orangeroute 3 and Redroute 9

edit

Hiya. I've proposed a few of the bus route articles you wrote for deletion under the WP:PROD system. This is basically because they don't have the required level of references in reliable sources that the notability guideline requires. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk pages. Thanks for your efforts, and I hope you keep contributing, but consensus is generally that most bus routes don't deserve their own articles, with some exceptions. Proposed deletion of Water Rider 6

edit

The article Water Rider 6 has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Alzarian16 (talk) 19:11, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Bus Routes

edit

Apologies for not seeing your deletion notices immediately. I very much enjoy reading about the history of other bus routes listed on here, and intended to start an informative history of bus routes in Aylesbury and then High Wycombe later. It was further intended that other users could add detail where I could not. Maybe I will consider creating one combined page for these routes instead. I would be interested to know what exceptions allow a bus route to be given its own page. For example, apart from being in London, I cannot see why service 145 is different to service 9 in Aylesbury in this respect. Pd010 (talk) 08:34, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice to have you back. To get an individual article a route has to meet the general notability guideline to justify a separate article, so the requirement is basically significant coverage in two indepenent reliable sources. Many of the London routes don't, but they were created before the rule was applied strictly so we haven't got round to fixing/deleting them all yet. (There used to be 400 and now there are 230, so progress is being made - slowly! You're welcome to help out if you want.)
A single article on Rainbow Routes would be a good idea, since the topic as a whole does appear to have received a fair level of coverage. Separate articles for the most notable one or two (Silver Rider springs to mind) would be possible if the sources stand up. Another option would be an article on Buses in Aylesbury covering the history of all operations in the town, like Buses in Milton Keynes and Buses in Bristol do.
Sorry if I've written too much again. Alzarian16 (talk) 12:40, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for this feedback, I will certainly take it into consideration for future updates and thank you for taking time to respond so comprehensively. Pd010 (talk) 18:08, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
