Your username

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Parissawax", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:45, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Parissa

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Parissa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Widr (talk) 17:17, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

We didnt realize that our previous username did not comply with the policies, and we want to be in complete compliance! We would like to change our username to Waxing Experts, because we are here to share our knowledge about waxing and hair removal! We are an at-home hair removal company based in Vancouver, BC. Our products are made with 100% natural ingredients, is cruelty free and packaged with recyclable materials. We pride ourselves on education about waxing at-home, our products and how consumers can shift their buying behaviours to save the planet, their skin, and spend their money consciously. Because of this, we need to spread awareness and education about our brand and educate those who may not know how to wax at home, how to become a conscious consumer, and what ingredients they are using for their products. A lot of the time, consumers don’t know or understand what they're are putting in their body or on their skin and we are here to educate those on how to fully understand the importance behind natural products. This Wikipedia page is crucial to our target market and potential consumers, and we do not want to profit off this page, but simply spread the awareness.

Decline reason:

Sorry, what you want to do is expressly not permitted on Wikipedia. "Spreading awareness" is just another way to say "promotion". Furthermore, your proposed new username is still inapprpriate as accounts are for individuals, not companies/organizations. Only a single person should have exclusive access to this account. Wikipedia is not interested in what a company says about itself, only in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage choose on their own to say about it, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. A company must be established in its field and recognized by independent reliable sources in order to merit an article. Unless you are interested in being a more general contributor and editing about topics unrelated to your company, like your Prime Minister or science or the history of Canada, this is the end of the road. 331dot (talk) 00:07, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've merged your requests, as only a single open request is needed at a time. 331dot (talk) 00:07, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
