I don't want to interfere, and certainly not cause edit conflicts, but would it be helpful if, for example, I solved some of the DABs for you? I see from your Contributions that you don't edit from 0030 to 0400 UTC and would do any editing between those times. Tell me to butt out if this is instrusive. Totally appreciate that this list is in your space. Oronsay (talk) 23:32, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

That's kind: I'm just off to bed.
What I've been doing is:
  • Hover over bluelinked authors to check that they're really authors (not people who share the name)
  • Where an author is a redirect, replace her name by the Wikipedia version of it (usually adding a diacritical)
  • Hover over bluelinked titles to check that they're a book by that author, and disambiguate with "(book)" or whatever else is needed
  • If a title links to a dab page, disambiguate to an existing title if present, otherwise create a red link with "..(book)" or whatever works
  • If a redlinked title belongs to a bluelinked author, check her article to make sure it's listed, and isn't linked using a variant title. If it's not listed, google to be sure that such a title does exist
  • If a redlinked title belongs to a redlinked author, Google to check that she and it both exist and aren't listed under slight variations.
  • If I come across an original title of a redlinked work published translated into English, add it.
  • I haven't yet sorted into A-Z sequence the small number of cases where I've corrected the spelling of author name so significantly that it affects the order.
I've got down to the end of the "M" section, so Joyce Carol Oates is next.
Over to you. Thanks again. PamD 00:19, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Very happy to help. I have unlinked Bagdad Burning as I was unsure what to do about a Redirect to its author, Riverbend. Oronsay (talk) 02:44, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Same Redirect issue with Kartography by Kamila Shamsie.--Oronsay (talk) 03:19, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Oronsay I tend to create a new red link by disambiguating with "(book)" while leaving the redirect to serve its purpose for now. PamD 15:07, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also, I removed What Love Comes To from Sharon Olds as it's by Ruth Stone – an error in the source document, 365 Books by Women Authors. Not sure which Sharon Olds book should've been listed. Oronsay (talk) 02:48, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Oronsay Olds wrote a foreword to an edition of Stone's poems, so I reckon that's the book they mean ! PamD 15:05, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
That was fun! Am stopping now as I have places to be. I found it good to click through to the author's page and check the book title there; I discovered a few book pages that way with slightly different names. I have done down to and including Kamila Shamsie, Kartography. Oronsay (talk) 03:23, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Oronsay Thank you so much. I'll crack on with the list later ... After some real-life stuff which I really ought to prioritise for a while ... and then my daily Redactle puzzle ... etc. But I created a stub about a village in Sussex over my breakfast muesli, after a dab page got mangled and taken to AfD. What a time-sink! PamD 15:11, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I finished the alphabet, adding foreign language bio links to authors where available. Over to you for how you want to re-format into Redlist of book titles. Let me know if there's anything more you'd like me to do. This has been right up my alley. Oronsay (talk) 01:41, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! I'll play with it a bit more when at PC not on phone. Yesterday I spent too much time and energy checking estate agent's shockingly-sloppy draft of sales pamphlet for our house, and digging in files to find stuff like 1998 radon test result and 2010 cavity wall insulation guarantee: not much spare mental energy for this lot. This exercise has reminded me what a lot of splendid detailed articles we have, in contrast to the stubs I usually create. PamD 06:22, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
