Welcome! edit

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Pallavy! I am Calaka and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

UN Speeches edit

I'm assuming these speeches that you've recently created articles on are in the public domain, if so, please consider creating them in Wikisource rather than Wikipedia. --RadioFan (talk) 11:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ruchira addressing the Security Council in 2007 edit

The article Ruchira addressing the Security Council in 2007 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

copyright status not clear, but in any case the complete text of long speeches is not appropriate for Wikipedia - see Wikipedia:Do not include the full text of lengthy primary sources and WP:NOTREPOSITORY. This should go in Wikisource, if copyright release is cleared.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JohnCD (talk) 12:03, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for replying. Don't worry, I think it would be best if the articles you currently created would be better at Wikisource since they are not encyclopedic in nature. Can you tell us where you got the sources from? You must tell us this before we can proceed any further. Regards.Calaka (talk) 12:38, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for showing me the links. If you are able to find more sources (like the ones currently on the article about the person) don't tell me but rather post them up on the article. Cheers!Calaka (talk) 13:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

August 2009 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to Ruchira Gupta. Thank you. Favonian (talk) 12:56, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your texts of Ms Gupta's speeches edit

...have been deleted because it seemed likely that they were copyright. Wikipedia can only accept material which is released under the terms described at WP:Copyrights#Contributors' rights and obligations.

However, as explained at Wikipedia:Do not include the full text of lengthy primary sources and WP:NOTREPOSITORY, the full texts of long speeches are not suitable material for Wikipedia in any case - they belong in our sister project Wikisource. If you are able to organise copyright clearance and wish these texts to be available on-line, you should take them to Wikisource rather than attempting to post them in Wikipedia again. Advice about adding texts to Wikisource is at Wikisource:Help:Adding texts, and their copyright requirements are explained at Wikisource:Copyright_policy.
