Claims about your identity edit

Given the claim you made here about your identity, I would suggest emailing info-en-q@wikipedia.org to verify your identity. If you do not do so, and we have only your word to back up your claims of your identity, you run the risk of being blocked as an apparent impostor. —C.Fred (talk) 15:54, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Note that PeterSymonds says here that the OTRS team has confirmed this is PAD. (waves to Peter -- you don't know me, but I've known Kathy Li online since the late 80s.)--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:53, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unreasonable people cause no end to our suffering edit

Different parts of the brain do different things. Some people just aren't good at logic solving, the reasoning part of their brain not developed enough. So what seems like common sense to many of us, is something their minds can not get a hold of. They once deleted an article for a writer who wrote the screenplays for two Disney films, one of which grossed over 70 million dollars, saying his contribution wasn't notable, unless someone who wrote a review in a magazine or newspaper said it was notable.[1] The current nominator of the article you are participating in, has nominated bestselling novels before for deletion, claiming sales figures don't indicate notability. Just thought I'd explain to you what to expect if you continue to participate in AFDs on Wikipedia. Small numbers of people nominated massive numbers of articles for deletion each day, and even if its kept, they just nominate it again a few months later, and keep trying. I certainly wasn't planning to participate to any degree. I have to think that that way lies madness. I'll tell you one thing, though: I see all this talk of "deletionists," and I have to wonder, am I the only one flashing on the Cybermen from "Doctor Who"? I mean, cyber people running around shouting, "Delete! Delete!" I can't be the only one this has occurred to. Padguy (talk) 07:44, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

And now it gets interesting. They want an outside source? They're going to get an outside source. My very next column of "But I Digress," which I will be entitling "The Witches of Eastwikipedia," is going to be a blow by blow account of the incredible stupidity that led to Kristian's entry being deleted. It will be a fascinating account of small-minded people who render judgments on accuracy and notability and can't even be bothered to research the subject's gender or the number of seasons "Space Cases" ran. A "community" that consists of varying rules bent to the will of a handful of busy bodies and self-appointed guardians of Wikipedia's reputation. And to make it easy to distribute, I will allow anyone who wants to to repost it anywhere on the net without having to ask permission. And that's not a threat. That's a promise.Padguy (talk) 23:47, 15 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Excellent! Glad to hear it. Many people are being driven to the Wikia, which is like the Wikipedia, only they don't delete things without a reason. Many articles from Wikipedia are moved over there to preserve them. Its like separate Wikipedia's for every single television show, video game, or genre someone wants to create one for. Space Cases has 172 articles over at it concerning that show. http://spacecases.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Cases_Wiki http://marvel.wikia.com/Main_Page is one for all Marvel comics. I just asked the guy who runs Wikipedia on his user page [2] to allow us to link to the Wikia from Wikipedia articles. Any show they saw an actor in, they could then link over to the Wikia easily, and look up information about them there. Dream Focus 00:25, 16 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

PAD,

Just read your awesome "Doing battle with the Deletionists" article. It's nice to hear the persective from a media person, particularly one whose stories I have enjoyed much. Thanks for your words; it's not easy sticking it out against the Notability Police, but it's worth it! I may never figure out what motivates a person to run around and tell people what it's not OK to write about. Believe me, you may have had one run-in with a deletionist, but I have had dozens... it's a wonder that anything worthwhile is still left around here! (And, you might be interested to know, Collectonian (who changed her name to AnmaFinotera has apparently permanently retired her account.) BOZ (talk) 04:06, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

You're going to love this one edit

Well, Peter, you're going to love this one. Can you offer your opinion in this discussion? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 23:57, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Because of mention in his publication, the article was able to be recreated. There is now a bit about this in the Peter David article, I copying over what Ntnon wrote in Kristian Ayre article that was deleted. [3] Dream Focus 03:45, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

That was a surprise ending edit

The image of the article will remain deleted it seems. [4] Their excuse/reason for doing this was that while they apparently accepted that you did in fact own the rights to the page, layout and all, that you didn't own the rights to the photograph used on it, and the photographer would have to give permission. Strange world. Please consider loading it onto your official website, so it can be linked to. Dream Focus 21:24, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
