Re: Brazil edit

PLMF, although you might think that is the case in Brazil, wikipedia must give all sides of the story. If there are sources that give such estimates then they must be voiced. It is very unfair and against wikipedia policy to edit in such a way that is personal point of view. Therefore do not revert the edits, but read wikipedia policy on sources and NPOV. Thanks, a.n.o.n.y.m t 02:34, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • The way you put there is POV too. Several sources agree on 1 million as a nice, round figure and state that the official census contains discrepancies and error"" Which sources are these? How reliable are they (especially compared to the official census)? It just look like propaganda to artifically inflate the amount of Muslims in Brazil... PMLF 02:37, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
    • Also, it`s already stated that Muslim authorities believe there are 1,5 Million Muslims in Brazil. The lines you added just favors the Islamic (wrong estimatives, although it`s not the point here) estimatives. PMLF 02:40, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
I did not add ANY lines; I simply reverted your version to the one before. Please go ahead and delete the line about a "nice, round figure", but do not add anything such as "it seems highly unlikely" because that will be POV. Thanks. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 02:42, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
    • I`ll let it like this:

According to the official 2000 census, there were 27,239 Muslims in Brazil. Most of them live in the states of São Paulo and Paraná. A very large percentage of them are Lebanese who left their country during Lebanese Civil War.

Some Newspaper estimates for Muslims in Brazil range from 56,000 Muslims to around 70,000. According to Islamic authorities and other souces the Braziian Muslim population range from 1 million to 1.5 million.

It looks pretty neutral to me now. What do you think?

PMLF 02:49, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

By the way, I still think the controversy from the Islam in the World page should be removed. We have to consider only the most reliable sources (the census in Brazil`s case). If we add the supposed to exist Brazilian controversy we would also have to add controversies for every other country were Muslims are a minority. PMLF 02:57, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

No I am afraid all sources must be considered on the world page, but the edits to the Brazil only article are good. Thanks, a.n.o.n.y.m t 18:51, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Project edit

Hi PMLF. I'm considering a project related to the upcoming 2006 FIFA World Cup. In a system similar to the country-specific articles created for the Olympics, I'm considering the creation of an article titled Brazil at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Even though the competition has not yet started, I was thinking that work could already start: we can list the results for the South American Qualifying stage, as well as any matches played in preparation specifically for the World Cup, Tivia facts, etc. Once Parreira drafts the team, we can list it there, plus all the detailed work to be done as the competition progresses. I'll be contacting other Brazilian users who might be interested in joining this effort as well. Maybe this will even encourage others to do a similar job for other countries (I'm not aware that any such project is underway currently). Redux 19:52, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for Image:Sally_Martin.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sally_Martin.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for Image:Sally Martin2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sally Martin2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 00:15, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please! edit

Please, for God's sake, TRANSLATE YOUR REFERENCES. This is an ENGLISH WP, not a Portuguese one.

Thanks, MYS77 00:05, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

And also, avoid redirects. Santos' correct link is Santos FC, not Santos Futebol Clube. MYS77 00:18, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
So, you do prefer 'the simple' instead of 'the helpful'? OK then.
I'm improving Werley now, don't enter in that article, it'll cause some edit conflict. I did the same with Edwin Valencia and Marquinhos Gabriel, please note that the latter two the articles have translated references, as famous players like Isco, Koke (footballer, born 1992) and others have too. MYS77 00:50, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Signing/addition edit

These two words are equally correct. Your Google search to this phrase doesn't prove nothing, as there's no explanation to it. Bye, MYS77 02:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect ''Grande Seca''. Since you had some involvement with the 'Grande Seca' redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 19:46, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Alinne Moraes: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Linguist Please respond on the current page. Timeline of Brazilian history edit
