Gennady Kolbin and Zheltoqsan

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! You may want to join the Wikipedia:WikiProject Central Asia. I saw your post on Zheltoqsan. While I have no problems with not mentioning his Chuvash background in the introduction, I think it's notable enough that it should be mentioned somewhere in the article, but perhaps lower down. Feel free to improve the article in any way you see fit, but remember to cite your sources. Regards, KazakhPol 19:44, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you dear KazakhPol for inviting, I'll look forward. Best wishes! Oscar_Jet

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Jeltoqsan riot 1986 Almaty 1.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy (ptt) 03:43, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

They are only related in that they were all uprisings against the Soviet Union, but there was no cause-and-effect relationship, it's not like the Hungarian revolution triggered those other two. We can't put in links to all the articles about all other uprisings, it's unnecessary and wastes space. K. Lásztocska 23:30, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Creating Articles

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Muhtar Shahanov) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Philippe Beaudette 23:57, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

For the record, no longer a nonsense article. Now coherent and appropriate. Philippe Beaudette 19:38, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Lyazzat Assanova (1970-1986) Jeltoqsan 86 Almaty riot.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
