Iron Man 2

I didn't edit that... Why do I have a message? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.191.5 (talk) 08:14, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Well... Your contributions list and this diff say otherwise. Perhaps it was someone else using your computer, or a shared IP if you edit from school or a library? onebravemonkey 09:19, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Jabba the Hutt

Yes I've just noticed that the edit I reverted was not strictly vandalism, but it was an easy mistake to make. That said, I am still not convinced that the IP which reverted was not up to no good. I'm going to let them know. 188.221.144.7 (talk) 16:47, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles 05:29, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

GEOGIS

You have recently edited the article on GEOGIS - I notice you don't cite any references when you have made changes. Please remember you be be able verify your contributions - please see Wikipedia:Verifiability if you need any further information. 157.203.254.2 (talk) 19:06, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

  • Thanks; As you well know my changes were to revert unsourced information that you had added. The fact that the majority of the information in that article is unsourced is a seperate issue. Before you continue leaving nonsense and false "guidance" on my talk page, you'd do well to heed the recent notices on yours. onebravemonkey 13:17, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure I like your tone; I haven't added the infomration you reverted.
The majority of the information is spot on - if you look at the IP Address you'll understand why. I have to admit to not knowing your educational or work background but if you aren't sure on this subject should you really be editing such technical articles.
The source of the infromation is a difficult - being an industry code much of the information is held with companies likeNetwork Rail and the other contractors who contribute to GEOGIS. However I am of the opinion that something like this is of wider interest so it's better in this form than not at all. I personally will try and find online soruces in order to verify the information. 157.203.254.2 (talk) 14:53, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
  • I'm afraid I don't care if you don't like my tone as you have a demonstrable history of joke edits and vandalism. These two diffs, here and here, show examples of the edits I reverted. My educational background or otherwise has no bearing on this or any other article; any information that is added is only dependent on verifiable sources, as per the policy you linked to earlier. I'm unconvinced that the article in question is notable enough to remain as there are no supproting sources. One way to ensure that it does not get deleted is to include reliable sources, although I have tried and failed. onebravemonkey 15:11, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
You come across as the sort who wouldn't care, but that is beside the point. I do not have history of "joke edits and vandalism", I'm sure you'll have gathered that this is a shared IP address.
I think one's background does have an affect on one's ability to effectively edit the content of many articles on here. In particular information which may be verifyied but is actually inaccurate.
GEOGIS is actually a very important part of maintaining and looking after Britain's rail network and should remain. Again, one's knowledge and background provides much of the reasoning behind GEOGIS. 157.203.254.2 (talk) 15:38, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
  • Thanks for that. This tone is the one I use with people who seem to be wasting my time. I recommend you register an account if you want to continue to edit WP and avoid any fallout from the IP being blocked due to vandalism. onebravemonkey 16:32, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Charles Mesure

There is nothing in the Elizabeth Mitchell Charles Mesure statement that is gossip. They were caught on camera holding hands at a dinner table in NY. Elizabeth is a married women with a child. The video is on youtube and it is clear as day that they are the two parties involved. What would be satisfactory proof to warrant an edit to Mr. Mesure's page?

  • Whilst I haven't seen the video you refer to, I must advise you that any information needs to adhere to the Biographies of Living People Policy and associated other policies. YouTube videos are generally a grey area are far as links are concerned, but in this case I would caution against their use as it increases the chance of distributing gossip. onebravemonkey 15:22, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
