Wiki markup edit

Ok, well the code that Wikipedia used is called Wiki markup, and it's designed to be very simple to use, once you know what's going on. You can find out more about this here. The Wikipedia:Tutorial is also a very useful place to find out about things like this. You mentioned userboxes too... well I don't suggest you go overboard on the userbox side of things, but if you want to put some userboxes on your userpage, it's very easy - see WP:UB. For example, to enter a userbox on your userpage, all you have to do is type, for example, {{user en}}, which will look like this:

enThis user is a native speaker of the English language.

Thanks, and if you need any more help, I'm always here so just ask! FireFoxT • 13:42, 6 March 2006

New messages edit

There are a few "fake" new-message alerts going round on people's userpages... If you find an alert which doesn't link to your userpage, don't worry, you don't have new messages - it's just someone mucking around :) FireFoxT • 20:15, 7 March 2006

tracks edit

See User:Jdorje/Tracks. I've improved the installation/running instructions. Let me know if it's enough. — jdorje (talk) 21:00, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The instructions are at User:Jdorje/Tracks. If you run into problems drop me a line or join IRC (jdorje on irc.freenode.org) and we can discuss it directly. — jdorje (talk) 23:29, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Archiving edit

A good place to see about this would be: Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page. FireFoxT [12:57, 19 March 2006]

Gordon edit

Ha Ha! Don't get me started: "...:And then the WMO retirement committee members were dragged out into the streets and beaten severely before police broke up the riots. The riots became known as the Gordon Riots. The name Gordon had killed 20,170 people before it was retired. Chief rioters Eric Brown and Andrew Hink were jailed and the head of the WMO retirement committee was fired." -- §HurricaneERIC§Damagesarchive 20:03, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Karen and Hudah edit

Just curious, are you going to do more work on those 2 articles? Currently, there is very little there, and they might be merged. Hurricanehink 20:32, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I might help out over the weekend, though I'm working on some of my own projects that I want to get done. Hurricanehink 22:18, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Do you still plan on working on those articles, or should it be merged? Hurricanehink 15:21, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Just checking. Hurricanehink 19:00, 11 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Given the amount of time that has passed, I merged Hudah into the season article, and I will soon do the same with Karen. I understand you are busy, but it is too short to remain an article. However, if you intend to finish the article, I'll leave it alone. Just checking, and no hard feelings. Hurricanehink 00:16, 25 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good to know, and good luck with it. Hurricanehink 19:53, 2 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Esperanza! edit

Welcome, Omni ND, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Old Skool Esperanzial note edit

Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower háblame 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

wikibreak... right! edit

Thanks for the note! I've been mostly on Wikibreak.. but I just can't seem to stay away entirely. I've got most of my real-life issues worked out, so I'm allowed a little time. :) But I'm also out of town at the moment, so I wont be doing a lot of vandal whacking. Aaaanyway.. thanks again. --Fang Aili 說嗎? 21:02, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Cat Lovers' Committee edit

Omni ND/Personal Discussion, I can see from your userboxes that you love cats.

Would you be interested in joining the Wikipedia Cat Lovers' Committee?

If you want to join, you can add yourself to the members list and contact the committee founder, me, GeorgeMoney on my talk page.

Thank You. --GeorgeMoneyTalk  Contribs 22:48, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Forecast for 2006 edit

I really liked your forecast for 2006 except for 2 things. One is that if the WMO building is under siege, it proves that people who look up hurricanes are just crazy. If Emily wasn't retired and there was no siege, then mno siege will occur. Another is that Patty and Rafael really aren't about the hurricane, but more about your frustration at Pres. Bush. If impeachement comes (which it will soon), it wont be due to devestation in Tampa (it would be for wiretapping) and it wouldn't split the Republican party enough for it to go away forever. Re: Tropical Cyclone Article Creation Alert Cancelled edit

Clever title :) Good luck with that, though I'm not a huge fan of the Catastrophic series. I personally don't see their use, and unless the new information can't go anywhere else, there's no real point. However, I do favor the List of XX hurricanes. If you do Hudah, good luck with that, too. Hurricanehink 21:41, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

2006 season edit

Just wondering... I really like your 2006 pages, but why did you stop the "rational" one? In the middle of a sentence even. Did you stop when the 2006 season started or something? Or did you just get bored with it? →Cyclone1 18:44, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

HAHA! one more thing (taken from above)
"...:And then the WMO retirement committee members were dragged out into the streets and beaten severely before police broke up the riots. The riots became known as the Gordon Riots. The name Gordon had killed 20,170 people before it was retired. Chief rioters Eric Brown and Andrew Hink, were jailed and the head of the WMO retirement committee was fired."
This needs to be added to the Gordon section (with my name included because I would do several things to the WMO for not retiring Gordon that would get me jailed), IMO!!!! HAHAHA!! Please add it! →Cyclone1 18:54, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
