Orphaned non-free media (Image:Iceland express NEW logo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Iceland express NEW logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

File:Saga-Fjarfestingabanki_200x50mm_RGB.jpg edit

I have tagged File:Saga-Fjarfestingabanki_200x50mm_RGB.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. Otherwise, it will be deleted in seven days. Melesse (talk) 08:03, 4 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Allison Madueke edit

I am fairly sure the "2L" spelling is "more correct". This is the name of Diezani's husband Rear Admiral Allison Amaechina Madueke. If you search books you will find about 196 results for "Allison Madueke" and 59 for "Alison Madueke". Both sets are mostly about the husband. A web search on admiral "allison madueke" gets about 11,500 while admiral "alison madueke" gets about 8,320. Obviously both spellings are widely used. Within one article both appear. A redirect would mean it does not matter which form a user searching for the name uses. But I prefer to use the form most common in books, which tend to check more carefully than websites. Those are convincing sources. I have changed to 1L. But I have left her husband as 2Ls for now, since that is what most of the books use. Name spelling is quite erratic in this part of the world. Thanks - you were right. :~) Aymatth2 (talk) 13:03, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
More activity. See recent history on this article, and the talk page. :-) Aymatth2 (talk) 13:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Discussion at Talk:Foreman Thuridur edit

I invite you to please join the discussion at Talk:Foreman Thuridur.

Hello, I am seeking help with the Foreman Thuridur article, recently translated from is:Þuríður formaður, and the discussion on its talk page. I am writing to you because you are in Category:User is-N and you are either part of WikiProject Iceland, interested in translating, or have been active on the Icelandic or English Wikipedias or other Wikimedia projects.

I realize that some of you are very busy (especially the admins), while others may no longer be editing. Nevertheless, I thought it wise to consult with you.

Thank your for whatever work that you do on Wiki[mp]edia! Peaceray (talk) 05:58, 17 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
