Welcome! edit

Hello Oldlhsguy and welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for your note on my talk-page. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Ischia, seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, please see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Sorry I had to remove so many links - you'll see that I've removed some more since your note on my talk-page. The problem lies with the sheer amount of advertising at those sites. Some of them are purely commercial and offer specific services for payment. Others offer information on geology, culture etc but without scholarly sources in support, and Wikipedia is, above all, an encyclopedia. Its content (including externally linked content) should conform to the standards of a reputable printed encyclopedia. But please, do feel free to submit any links you'd like to add or restore for discussion at the relevant noticeboard - see Wikipedia:External links/Noticeboard.
