Welcome! edit

Hello, Nrjohns1, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hey there! edit

Hey! I'm Sammi Brie, a longtime Wikipedia editor.

I see that UNO is running another Wiki Ed class and that you've selected New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as your project. This article has now been the subject of UNO classes on three occasions, and I have it on my watchlist, as it is a bit more promotional than it should be.

I'm reaching out to you to serve as a contact for the page specifically and to encourage you to look for and reduce the volume of promotional, non-encyclopedic content on the page. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me by replying to this post with {{ping|Sammi Brie}} and a signature in your message. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 04:51, 21 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Gouda edit

Hi - I trimmed back some of the phrasing that you added to Gouda. Please note that we do not make value judgments in Wikipedia's voice - we don't say that things are 'delicious' or 'satisfying' or similar - our aim is to write entirely neutrally and factually. I noticed some rather odd phrases in the stuff you added - did you write that using an LLM like ChatGPT? If so, please don't do that in future - write any content you want to add yourself, and don't seek to praise the subject, just describe it in a factual manner. Thank you.
