Image copyright problem with File:PioneerTrailLogo.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:PioneerTrailLogo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --Chris (talk) 15:26, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Words With Friends Logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Words With Friends Logo.jpg, which you've sourced to Zynga.com. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mlpearc Public (Talk) 17:09, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Survey edit

Hi NinaSpezz!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Brearley School Edits edit

Hi Ninaspezz, I got your message about the recent edits to the Brearley School article. I reverted the edits from the one IP who added scare quotes to the word "Notable" in the "Notable alumnae" heading, added the tuition figure (which will always be changing and is unnecessary), and the controversy that doesn't appear that controversial (and was in the wrong part of the article anyway). I left the edit about the interim head mistress since the new one won't start till July. That does mean someone will have to remember to update it then. If you want to change that back to the new head mistress I think that'd be fine even if presently inaccurate. I have no particular interest in this article and only found it while researching some other stuff so patrolling it isn't a priority for me, so please feel free to make changes when you see they are needed. Cheers! SQGibbon (talk) 16:26, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Words with Friends edit

Hey, there's a discussion thread running on Talk:Words With Friends relating to the edits you messaged me about. Would you like to add your 2¢? --LukeSurl t c 11:03, 3 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Arcus Foundation Logo.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:Arcus Foundation Logo.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Remember you are writing an encyclopedia and not a promotional introduction blurb edit

your edits sound entirely too much like promotional blurbs to introduce a speaker and not encyclopedia coverage. Please keep in mind that you are not part of Goldstein's promotional team (or if you are you need to stop editing his article).-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:41, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
