Help me! edit

I created , more than 12 months ago, an article in my own sandbox, so now I'm wondering if I can create the proposed article and eventually clean the sandbox. Is there any template or short way to do so? Nikolas Tales (talk) 03:21, 3 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi: If you want to submit your draft for evaluation through the Articles for creation process, then edit it and add {{subst:submit}} at the very top. It may take several weeks for it to be evaluated, but you will then get a message here saying whether it has been accepted or whether it needs further work. Alternatively, if you want to create it yourself, use the Move button to move the article to Walter Robert Fuchs; but this always has the risk that someone may nominate it for deletion. If you choose this method, a redirect will be automatically created at your sandbox page; you can then tag that with {{db-userreq}} and an admin will come along and delete it. You can also at any time create a new sandbox page just by typing something into the Wikipedia search window that begins with User:Nikolas Tales/ and then clicking on the red link in the page that comes up. Thanks for drafting the article on Fuchs; if it is created, {{translated page|de|Walter Robert Fuchs}} should be placed on the article talk page as soon as possible for attribution (if you draft a new article in a sandbox space again in the future, you can alternatively state in your first edit summary that you are translating from a foreign-language article, naming the Wikipedia and the title there). Does that all make sense? Thanks for translating it! Yngvadottir (talk) 05:18, 3 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

A belated welcome! edit

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Nikolas Tales. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! Yngvadottir (talk) 05:20, 3 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Help: formatting options edit

I had selected the "justify paragraphs" option in every wiki that I visit, I am used to save everyday the main page of wikipedia in a dozen of languages and pages from the projects that I am interested to... the option no longer works, it also seems that it has been removed from "preferences". I assume that the media wiki package has been updated? or is it a new bug?--Brain (talk) 23:11, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

WP:Village pump (technical) is probably a good place to ask about MediaWiki updates. That said, a quick search of the archives gave this old discussion which has a suggestion on how to enable justified paragraphs yourself, without the preferences. Huon (talk) 23:42, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much, issue solved :) Brain (talk) 23:41, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you for inviting me! I will join at some point, not immediately, due to some incumbent issues in my everyday life. However, I keep checking and browsing wikipedia everyday; cheers.Brain (talk) 00:47, 23 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much edit

The RfC discussion to eliminate portals was closed May 12, with the statement "There exists a strong consensus against deleting or even deprecating portals at this time." This was made possible because you and others came to the rescue. Thank you for speaking up.

By the way, the current issue of the Signpost features an article with interviews about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.

I'd also like to let you know that the Portals WikiProject is working hard to make sure your support of portals was not in vain. Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.

Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.

If you would like to keep abreast of developments on portals, keep in mind that the project's members receive updates on their talk pages. The updates are also posted here, for your convenience.

Again, we can't thank you enough for your support of portals, and we hope to make you proud of your decision. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   00:20, 27 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
