you are welcome to ask any questions!

RFC

edit

i have already requested an RFC from TJive who has done a good job dealing with this propaganda but if you do not stop with the Castroite talking points i will post one myself. J. Parker Stone 12:04, 21 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Firstly, there is no such thing as "Castroite". Second, you fail to recognize that the world is not one-sided. You believe you are the only one right. You believe your views are the only one's correct, and all others are illegitimate. You should open your eyes, because you are not the only one on this planet. Your views are just that, YOUR VIEWS. They are not written in a holy book. They are not truth that is enshrined in heaven. You should lower your ego. I do not understand the last part of your sentence. You are going to "post one". What are you going to post? - NWOG

follow your own advice kiddo. and next time post the reply on my talkpage. J. Parker Stone 06:51, 22 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

3RR violation

edit

Please see the three revert rule which you appear to have violated at Communism. I see you've been blocked for a 3RR violation before, so you should be aware of the rule. You may be blocked without further warnings for future violations in any article.-gadfium 01:28, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I believe I have added something more or less every time I have revived a version. If I have not, then I must apologize. PS: How do I send a message directly to you, like you did to me? NWOG

To send me a message, you post something on my talk page - i.e. follow any link to my user page, and then go to the discussion tab and post there. I watch a user's talk page for a few days after I post on it so I can see any replies, but not everyone does that.
As regards 3RR, I believe that adding extra material doesn't make a difference, but I'm not an expert on the subtleties of the policy. The intent of the rule is to stop a revert war, and it did look to me like there was a revert war at that article with you on one side and several editors on the other. I'm not involved in editing that article at all recently.-gadfium 21:39, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Which Castro pic?

edit

Please go vote on the talk page rather than have every editor rotate the pic on every edit. All the recent photos are fine, let's just decide on one. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 19:41, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I do not particularly like the current Castro picture, Image:Fidel-recent-bw.jpg. His face seems kind of puffy, and it's B&W rather than color. However, it is (a) recent and (b) a face or upper-body portrait; those seem like abolute requirements. By (b), Image:Cubafidel.jpg clearly fails (Castro himself is about 1/4 of the picture). By (a), Image:FidelCastroCuba.jpg also clearly fails.
Either Image:Fidel31marzo.jpg or Image:Fidel-Speech.jpg should be fine still (both meet (a) and (b)). But apparently some editors don't like the first on image quality (it seems OK to me; but not to edit-war over). In any case, I really don't understand your need to continually change the image every day; what we have seems adequate, even if not brilliant (and much better than your proposed substitutions). Cuba

edit

Your edits on Cuba are considered vandalisms (the removal of the Human rights section, for example). Please try to contribute more useful content in the future. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-10-29 16:39

Of the nations in the Greater Antilles, Cuba is the only one who has a Human Rights section. It is unfair. Therefore I made Cuba equal to the other nations.

  • You make them equal by adding Human Rights sections to the other nations. You don't delete sections that others have worked hard on. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-10-31 17:51
  • Quote from 172 | Talk on the Cuba Talk page, dated October 11: "In other articles there are a series of standard sections on history, politics, economy, and demographics-- each with a link to their respective main articles, along with a "miscellaneous" or "other" section for everything else. In other articles, human rights go under "other" or under the related articles. This is the case for the United States. It is even the case for other communist countries like People's Republic of China. [1] Thus, it appeared that the inclusion of a section on human rights in this article was at best arbitrary or at worse politically determined without reference to the NPOV policy."
    • I agree with 172 | Talk's arguements.

Controversial edits

edit

Hello. Before making what can potentially be controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Otherwise people might consider your edits to be vandalism.

I see little reason to discuss the edits when inaccurate information is presented. Perhaps you should be more careful in the future yourself, because you are adding false information to the page, even when you have been notified the information is false. Cheers - NWOG

  • Find evidence to back up your claims, present them for others to discuss, refute their replies (if possible) and go from there. If you cannot find a means to discuss information, rather than revert it, I suggest that you move on to another site. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-10-31 18:46

It is basic knowledge that Fidel Castro has NOT been the President of Cuba since 1959. If I remember correctly, he was Prime Minister up to 1976, until that position was abolished; He became President 3 December, 1976. But I understand. Some people are interested in different aspects of history. Do you not believe me? If you do not, I assume you want me to back it up with a source? - NWOG

  • Why are you only talking about whether he was president or not? In your edit that you keep reverting, you change a lot more than the date of his presidency. — BRIAN0918 • 2005-11-3 23:55

Image Tagging Image:Constructinghome.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Constructinghome.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:FidelGuerilla.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading Image:Pyongyangpic.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CheInCongo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:CheInCongo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:25, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:FidelGuerilla.JPG

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:FidelGuerilla.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:43, 20 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 06:43, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CheInCongo.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:CheInCongo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:38, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:CheInCongo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CheInCongo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 05:22, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
