Cody McDonald edit

Premier League Cat?!?!??!

Anyway, I'll take this to AfD (and it will be deleted) if he doesn't make his debut in the next game or two. He's not yet notable. --Dweller (talk) 21:20, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Heh. No worries. He's not been registered in time for tonight's game, but I'll wait and see his level of involvement in City's next squad before deciding if an AfD is a waste of the community's time or appropriate. --Dweller (talk) 12:51, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Luke Daley edit

Nice one. NB I have pages in my userspace for all the remaining youth players with squad numbers (and a few others) awaiting 1st team debuts. If any do make their debut, please feel free to update the page and move it to mainspace. --Dweller (talk) 09:52, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I guess I forgot to mention Korey Smith --Dweller (talk) 12:05, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dave Mooney edit

Is there any chance you could change David Mooney back to Dave, as it is just the fact that the English media don't know him very well that he is referred to as David. He appeared on Monday Night Soccer last Monday, where his name appeared as dave and he was referred to as Dave as well by the presenter.

It's a bit like Ger Cunningham. His full name is Gerry, but people call him Ger.--86.41.74.144 (talk) 17:58, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have moved it back for now, please feel free to add your thoughts to the discussion I started on the talk page.--NCFCQ (talk) 23:03, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Another one cued up, ready for debut edit

User:Dweller/Danny Kelly (footballer). If/when he makes his pro debut, just add the debut details and move it into mainspace. --Dweller (talk) 16:05, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

GFDL edit

Under the terms of the GFDL, you can't just cut and paste Tom Adeyemi's article from my userspace into mainspace and then upgrade it. My work needs to be attributed. You could have done this in an edit summary (noting it had been c+pd from User:Dweller/Tom Adeyemi) but even that's not really good enough, because the userpage will inevitably be deleted now that it's in mainspace. What you should have done was move the article, using the "move" button. This isn't me being precious or fussy, the same applies to any user's work. I'm going to have to fix this, which is a pain, because you've not just replicated my edits but added to them, meaning I can't just overwrite the page as I'll either lose your improvements or add them under my own name, which is the same problem.

Please see Wikipedia:How_to_fix_cut-and-paste_moves. --Dweller (talk) 10:46, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's no worries, nice reply. It actually took me less time to do than I thought it would. What a terrible, terrible start to the season. I think it was a bit freaky though and I'm not overly doom-filled. Some confidence will have to be rebuilt quickly! Quiz question - when was the last time a team got stuffed by a six goal margin on opening day and wasn't bottom of the table!?!?!? --Dweller (talk) 11:35, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Would you like to join the efforts to push this to FA status? --Dweller (talk) 12:16, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

2011–12 Norwich City F.C. season edit

Hey. I note you re-added the spacing in the score lines which is a shame. I use WP:DASH to help here which says to use unspaced en-dashes in this case. Obviously a lot of the community are unaware of the WP:MOS or how to correctly use en-dashes, but in deference to your continual re-addition of the spaces, I will leave this article to be non-MOS-compliant. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:35, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for the extremely delayed reply. Thanks, at least I now know what you meant by "fixed". I will freely admit I was only changing the format back to what I have been most used to in my dealings with football season articles here. I'm fairly intrigued as to why the MOS is apparently so repeatedly breached in these cases. Perhaps everyone is doing as I did here and following the herd. Or, is it not possible that, with a list of footballbox templates as in a season article, then these en dashes could come under point 4 of WP:NDASH? Clearly the spaces would not be at all appropriate if these scores were written as part of a sentence in normal text, but in this kind of listing of scores, the spaces seem to make sense (to me, anyway) as means of an extra visual separator. This is just me speculating. --NCFCQ (talk) 21:24, 10 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you ever see this... edit

Please do enable your email. I'd have loved your input at Talk:Carrow_Road#Schematic_plan, for example. Hope you're well. --Dweller (talk) 11:44, 19 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm good thanks (it's been a while) and have now activated email. You and Rambling Man got exactly what I meant re the Carrow Road schematic. --NCFCQ (talk) 09:20, 9 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
And I've only just seen this. Glad we got it right! --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 07:41, 5 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
