Pansexualism

Hi, I wanted to give you some feedback on the content you added to the article.

• Much of what you added here were large block quotes. You should only add large quotes if these things cannot be summarized in your own words and if the quotes are so major that not including them would be detrimental to the article. To be honest, most quotes are unnecessary and should really only be added if the person is extremely major and vital to the topic. For example, the Miley Cyrus quote doesn't really fit in the pansexualism article since she's not a very major and vital figure here whereas it would be more reasonable in her own article since she's a major and vital figure when it comes to an article about herself. This isn't a knock against her, just that most people aren't going to be so major that they would need to be quoted or have a large quote in a page that isn't about themselves.

However keep in mind that quotes should still try to be summarized first, as including a lot of quotes (especially big ones) can make a page unwieldy and even run the risk of running afoul of Wikipedia's fair use guidelines if we can't really justify the inclusion of the quote.

• When it comes to quoting definitions, I would just summarize the content unless the definition itself is fairly noteworthy.

• Be careful of Psychology Today. The site has blog posts, which are considered to be self-published sources since the site doesn't really give them any true editorial oversight or really verify the claims. To be honest, I'd recommend generally avoiding them. There have been some issues with the site in the past as far as Wikipedia goes.

Shalor (Wiki Ed), another reason that Cyrus should not be mentioned there is because, like I stated with this edit, pansexualism as a Freud concept is distinct from the modern-day definition/concept of pansexuality. If the Pansexualism article is to remain, it should not essentially be a second Pansexuality article. Also pinging LawrenceBbrook so that LawrenceBbrook sees this. If it's going to be about pansexuality, then it should simply be redirected to/re-merged with that article. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 13:19, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
