Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Europe and Asia or Eurasia? edit

Hello Mspriz. I am Nazeef. Recently you reverted one of my edits by replacing Eurasia by Europe and Asia in the article of USSR. In the article of Russian Empire, there is also given Eurasia. And both of them are from history and are former countries. So I suggest that using Eurasia in the article of Soviet Union is more encyclopedic and much better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HELLO IM NAZEEF (talkcontribs) 12:28, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

February 2022 edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

NinjaRobotPirate I got blocked for apparently "abusing" this account? How exactly did I use this account abusively? By getting over a 1000 edits, nominating and successfully electing an article to GA, and even getting the Million Award? Simply checking my IP and connecting me to a string of banned accounts I once had access to justfies this block? This time, I did not even use another account.... I had, at one point, used one account for strawman sockpuppetry in August 2021, and still regret that decision to this day. It got my main account, with over 6000 edits, banned. I waited. And then my IP ban expired on November, so I do not get the point of this ban. My edit history clearly shows I have no malicious goals, and my only goal is to improve Wikipedia. How much more will I pay for that single mistake? I do not have another account created, this is the only one. I have understood my mistakes. I have no goals for sockpuppetry anymore. Its a pointless thing. Mspriz (talk) 11:02, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Every edit you made here was in violation of WP:EVADE and WP:SOCK. Note that blocks apply to the person, not just the account. Until the block on your original account is lifted, you (you the person) are not permitted to edit Wikipedia. WP:SO is your best bet at this point, though you'll need to show substantially more understanding of Wikipedia policies than you have done so far. Yamla (talk) 14:06, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
