Hi there. You may have noticed that a number of the articles you have added Category:Edwardian era and Category:Victorian era to have been reverted by other authors (e.g. Electricity, British literature, BP, and so on). London & Overseas Freighters

Thankyou for your work on articles about so many ships of the British Tanker Company fleet. I've now created a London & Overseas Freighters article that refers to many members of the LOF fleet as well as the company's history.

Wikipedia custom discourages ampersands in article titles, but references to LOF seem to use an ampersand far more frequently than the word "and" so I've done likewise. I suspect it may even have been official, like the abbreviations in the name of the Wilts & Berks Canal.

Three LOF ships served in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and as such already had individual articles: the London Integrity, London Loyalty and Overseas Adventurer. None of them actually mentioned LOF, so I've expanded each article accordingly.

Three early LOF ships each have a paragraph in Empire ship subsidiary articles: London Builder, London Trader and London Mariner. I've expanded the paragraph for each ship with a link to LOF the article.

I've created a new article for one more LOF ship, the London Statesman, because she her history is notable for incidents in the Vietnam War and the Iran–Iraq War.

I struggle with the size and detail of "infobox ship" templates. I wanted to add the Red Ensign to the Bayleaf, Brambleleaf and Cherryleaf articles to differentiate the ships' civilian careers from their naval ones, but couldn't see how to do it. If you or another WP Ships contributor knows how to fix this, please be my guest!

Somne LOF ships were flagged out in the latter part of their career by LOF or subsequent owners. In some cases I have not been able to find out for certain which ships were registered under which flags. In the case of the Skaros (formerly London Statesman) this is hampered by online sources disagreeing as to whether her final owners registered her in Greece or Cyprus.

At least four other early LOF ships had Second World War careers before LOF bought them. They therefore might be interesting subjects for individual articles. They were not Empire ships but seem to have been pairs of sister ships. The Richmond Hill (London Craftsman) and Pentridge Hill (London Dealer) wer built by Bartram & Sons; the Coombe Hill (London Artisan) and Tower Hill (London Banker) by William Doxford & Sons. I'm not anxious to claim the credit for any more LOF-related articles. I will be delighted if any fellow-contributor writes them, but if not I would try to write them myself eventually.

The second London Pride (the one built in 1971 and scrapped in 1983) may be worth an article as she was by far LOF's largest ship and the company's only VLCC. However, she may not be a very interesting ship, having been active for only 10 years, then lying idle in Greece for two years and being broken up aged only 12. I know some other LOF tankers were laid up in the same Greek bay as the Pride. Unfortunately I can remember neither their names nor the name of the bay!

Describing the London Pride raises the matter of nomenclature. Authors tend to put (I), (II) or (III) after the names of some LOF ships to distinguish successive vessels of the same name. This is entirely unofficial, did not appear on the ships and I imagine did not appear in official records of them. I guess the year of either launching or completion would be apropriate, but don't know which of these two it should be according to Wikipedia custom or guidelines.

I have not added any photographs or other images to any LOF-related articles. Finding photos online and verifying their copyright status is not my speciality so I will leave this to fellow-contributors who are better at this.
