Hello. I'm sorry, could you confirm that you took the image you've uploaded with a Nokia camera on Boxing Day as you claimed at this diff's edit summary (as well, it turns out, as in this diff). I'd be interested to know exactly where you were when you did so as well. You'll excuse my caution: copyright violation is a significant issue. Thanks. Hi Blue Square Thing, hope you're going well. Apologies but I meant Nikon camera, not Nokia as I was typing fast when editing. If you check out the image page on Wikimedia Commons [1], you can find the metadata information at the bottom. This should be sufficient evidence I took the photo in person and I am not breaching any copyright violations. By comparison, this image [2] which was previously published by P J Chatterjee is more than likely a copyright breach which has been published much longer than my image. If you check that image page, the metadata listed does not suggest that it was taken by a camera and was likely to be screen-grabbed. Let me know if you require any further info. I am a huge cricket fan, but I will never publish a image that I didn't take myself. Happy New Year and best wishes for 2022! MrBlueSky747 (talk) 11:27, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Given the block below, as a sock of a serial copyright violation editor, I'll note that the image I questioned got on to the main page - so that really reflects well on Wikipedia. And this editor took the issue to the edit filter where no objection was raised. Bit of a facepalm all round really. Blue Square Thing (talk) 12:20, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
