List of active United States military aircraft edit

Re: edits regarding the manufacture of Boeing & McDonnell Douglas aircraft. While this type of information can be highly informative (I appreciate reading it), it is better suited in the articles for the specific aircraft, not in list or tables such as in this article. I recommend you add the information there with citations and a neutral point of view. Rr parker (talk)

I am recommending you add this kind of details in the article(s) about the aircraft, such as McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. I hope that helps. Rr parker (talk) Rr parker (talk) 02:55, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Poorly sourced additions to McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet edit

Hello, I'm DIYeditor. I noticed that you made a change to an article, McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

This almost comes across as a joke: "IRONCLAD REFERENCE. OFFICIAL MCDONNELL DOUGLAS COMMEMORATIVE MUG FROM MCDONNELL DOUGLAS GIFT SHOP", and "I worked at MDC onf the F/A 18 project during the period in question" is not a reference and is totally inappropriate for Wikipedia. Anecdotal evidence, personal experience and gift shop mugs are not sources. If what you wish to include is factual it should be easy to find a WP:RS for it. Also capital letters and exclamation points are not appropriate. —DIYeditor (talk) 04:09, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 05:58, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring edit

I think we have both engaged in edit warring on McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet and violated the 3 revert rule. We are not allowed to engage in back-and-forth edit conflicts involving the same or different material more than 3 times in a 24 hour period. I was not aware that I had done so and I assume the same is true for you. If I had an edit of mine I could reverse I would do so but they have all already been overwritten. For future reference this can result in blocks from editing. We are supposed to work out conflicts on the article talk page. —DIYeditor (talk) 08:42, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Talk page formatting edit

Please WP:INDENT (see this link) your talk page responses by starting each paragraph with one more ":" than the previous editor's response (or one if the previous had none). Also, when you start a response with {{u|User_example}} (which inserts [[User:User_example|User_example]] for you) it "pings" that user, and you want to indicate the user you are trying to get the attention of, not yourself, and use this sparingly, generally when you think the other editor might not see the response for example because they are not "watching" (have the star at the top selected). There is no point to mentioning/linking your own user page. —DIYeditor (talk) 19:25, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
