{{helpme}} Hello. Can I claim the image of the Disney under "fair use" since I attribute it to the copyright owner within the caption and the image is being used to illustrate the censorship topic. Is there an acceptable Wiki status which I can set it to? I think I may have set it to an inappropriate one while struggling to embed the image within the text. Momokau (talk) 08:12, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I am not an expert on "fair use" - I know a little bit. I strongly suspect that there is no way to make this work; fair use rules are very specific. The subject of the article is Piglet (Winnie-the-Pooh), and therefore this image is not terribly specific to the article - if it were an article called Malaysian Winnie-the-Pooh wrapping paper, then you might have a chance. In the case you are describing, it would be very hard to say that this was the only possible image that could illustrate the issue that you want to discuss. If you want a more full answer, please ask on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. My personal advice would be, give up - I really don't think you will be successful. Sorry I can't give a more positive answer. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  08:24, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Momokau, there's also the issue that it is original research to claim that this is an example of Piglet-censorship. I personally own wrapping paper with just Pooh and Tigger on it, but it was sold in the United States. Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, and Roo also do not appear on the wrapping paper, but that doesn't mean it's censoring rabbits, owls, and kangaroos. Powers T 14:30, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Censored Winnie the Pooh gift wrapper.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:51, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Nisha Ayub

edit

On 15 April 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Nisha Ayub, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Nisha Ayub has said she could be stripped naked and killed, but her transgender identity could not be taken from her? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Nisha Ayub. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Nisha Ayub), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
