  • Wikimedia previously used the IRC network Freenode. However, due to changes over who controlled the network with reports of a forceful takeover by several ex-staff members, the Wikimedia IRC Group Contacts decided to move to the new Libera Chat network. It has been reported that Wikimedia related channels on Freenode have been forcibly taken over if they pointed members to Libera. There is a migration guide and Wikimedia discussions about this.

Request edit history delete

Hi. I edited an article on wikipedia but i forgot to log in. Can you please delete my edit revision please. The page name is Hindu Shahis. Can you delete the last revision without login that shows the ip adress. Thanks Modcheck2002 (talk) 02:17, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Not necessary to delete it –- you could have just undone it, but it looks like someone else has already done that. It also looks like you're getting involved in an edit war – I'd suggest you start a discussion on the talk page to get a consensus before one or the other of you ends up getting blocked. Mlaffs (talk) 02:24, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Yes but im new in wikipedia and I didnt knew how it works if im not logged in. I searched that administrators can manage this issue. I just want the ip adress to be removed. Can you please remove it from the edit history because it shows my ip adress Modcheck2002 (talk) 02:31, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Looks like I've been beaten to it again. Glad someone was able to help you out. Mlaffs (talk) 02:54, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Utah translator rebuilds

Thanks for doing some of the updating. I had planned to do more of these, but FCCdata removed the very helpful translator listing by station for TV, which made that job a lot harder. The TVQ → LMS conversion and removal of hidden boxes (per MOS) still need to be done on a good number of these pages. I've been told also that some of the KJZZ translators have changed to rebroadcast other multiplexes (since they can't relay the ATSC 3.0 transmission and all of the former KJZZ channels are carried on other muxes that are also rebroadcast), but there is no reliable information. My pleasure. Gnome-work like this has always been my jam, first on radio and then eventually on TV too. I actually save the pages out of the FCC's Actions and Broadcast Actions reports each day that have relevant info in them, and then peck away at it as I have the time. I'd had a massive backlog of TV stuff especially that I hadn't got around to, because there's been so much activity with the repack, but I've been able to plow through most of that somehow over the last couple of months. Still have about 40-odd to look at from February/March, but I'll probably be through that by the end of the week and then I should be caught up, at which point I'll start look at what's left on the channel 38 through 51 lists and see which ones have snuck past me.
FWIW, I tend to use RabbitEars to source the rebroadcast info. Not a reliable source, per se, but probably about as reliable as anything out there.
And if you're the one who's been doing the work on reformatting those hidden boxes, nice job. Those damn things have been the bane of my existence for years – the formatting is such a pain in the ass when you need to add or remove an entry. Although the TelevisionTranslators template isn't much better. Mlaffs (talk) 13:22, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Doesn't help when there are translators that rebroadcast several main stations. I think some of the CO ones are like that. So too are a few in southern California. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 20:38, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I've tended to leave those as redlinks for now. That's a "someday" problem... Mlaffs (talk) 20:46, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
