I don't think it would hurt to have WJVR on the List of radio stations in Virginia since it is pretty much a given WJVR will get a license. For some reason, the FCC is really slow at issuing licenses these days. Before they had a license out in a couple days, now we have stations operating under construction permits for a couple weeks, a month even. - That was your add? Sorry; I didn't realize. If I had, I'd have dropped a note on your talk page first. Yeah, they are wacky down there. Funnily enough, as they slow down on issuing licenses, they're getting way better about pulling licenses away from stations that don't file renewals or go dark for more than a year.
- Anyway, you're probably right, but the page does say it's a list of licensed stations, and we have to reverse additions all the time. Consistency, and all that. That cool? Mlaffs (talk) 17:35, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- No worries. :) Yeah, I have noticed that they are snatching those things back within a day or two that they expire. I guess they really want that broadcast bandwidth for cell phones. As for the WJVR page, I guess, at the moment, I have to (per current rules), but I think we should propose a tweak to the rule on that just a teeny bit (probably via WPRS Talk) and have it so that we can add stations operating under construction permits with a good probability (like WJVR) of getting a license. That would prevent this same thing (ie: adding of CP operating stations to the list pages) from going on by different users, as new stations are added, on different list pages again.

- I thought you were from the US since you edit US radio stations, but hey, Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving...you can't beat it no matter the time or location. :) I always invite my Canadian friends to celebrate with us in November too. That way you all can have turkey and all the trimings and fall into a tryptophan coma in front of the TV while watching football with the rest of us. :) Today is college football day here in the US, so leftover turkey and more football...gotta love this weekend. :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 21:35, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Logical assumption but, no, I'm in Toronto. There's just something about the call sign world that draws out my gnomish tendencies, and the sources for information on the Canadian stations just aren't as easy to access.
- Not much a football fan myself, but I can't get away from it this weekend. Canadian University football championship was here last night, and then the Grey Cup (equivalent to the Super Bowl for the CFL) is here tomorrow night. Mlaffs (talk) 21:45, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- I actually forgot that I had posted here, so sorry for the slow reply. I have noticed that the CRTC doesn't make finding callsign information very easy. The FCC, on the other hand, I think knows there are a TON of radio/TV geeks out there, so they have made their site more and more user-friendly. As for football, we are deep into our college football championship games with the bowl games coming up and then in the middle of all of that, we have the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl, so I don't think much will get done in the next couple weeks in the US. :)

- On an unrelated note, I would to let you know that the spaces (like these) are something that I tend to remove on VA, WV, MD, PA, and DC radio station pages as it makes the page look messy at the bottom. I think when all the templates are tightly compact at the bottom, it looks neater. The spaces makes things look messy, in my opinion. I am not sure if that is something that could be changed in the future, as it would make things better looking. Hope you are having a good start to your December. - Quick updated on WJVR, they were finally granted a license on November 21, 2012, so I put them back on the List of radio stations in Virginia page. It took the FCC a month and 11 days from the time WJVR began broadcasting for them to issue a license. Wow. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 23:48, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Hey Mlaffs, would you mind giving a once-over to the WKEY (AM) page? I updated the "History" section with tons of information and sources, but that last paragraph is bothering me. - Nice work. I saw a few minor grammatical/format things that I cleaned up, but it looks great otherwise. Honestly, I don't know how you'd be able to source the simulcast information, but it's not like it's the sort of thing that anyone's likely to challenge either.
