Indiana Jones project

First of all, congratulations on putting this together! However, it is rather disappointing that this wasn't proposed to any of the related projects, much less at the appropriate forum. I state this for two reasons: one, projects should already have sufficient numbers of editors on-board prior to formally organizing. The other major reason is that projects of a relatively limited scope such as IJ actually have more disadvantages functioning administratively at the WikiProject-level - there's simply too much bureaucratic maintenance overhead associated with a WikiProject, as well as general guideline redundancy, to be wasting on your editors.

Nonetheless, this isn't to state that the group is not needed - merely, that it would function far more efficiently and effectively as a task force. (If you read those two links, you will find out why in far more detail, and with a great degree of excellent guidance.) This will free up you and your workgroup's participants to actually spend your energies working on the articles, with minimal workgroup maintenance, instead of having to outlay a significant percentage of time maintaining a project itself - and all that goes along with that. Many underestimate the critical importance of this, and it is a key factor involved in why projects of too limited a scope often go inactive. On the positive side, the closer interaction as a task force of a larger project affords more attention by the larger project, as well as a great opportunity for both groups' memberships to cross-pollinate. Additionally, the task force benefits from usage of the larger project's extant processes, guidelines, conventions, and departments without having to re-invent the wheel, and at no cost of time or effort for the editors organizing the task force.

In IJ's case, the project that should look at merging under would be Wikipedia:WikiProject Media franchises first. WikiProject Films may be interested in some involvement, too, although given that the scope of the group goes beyond the films, that might be to a lesser degree.

Please let me know your thoughts, and be aware that I'm happy to answer any further questions you might have. Many thanks, Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 04:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, it is a good WikiProject, isn't it? -- MISTER ALCOHOL T C 04:51, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not as a WikiProject, no. (I'm confused, am I being unclear above?) Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 05:23, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Far, far too narrow in scope for a task force let alone a wikiproject. Are you not aware that wikiprojects have to be proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals first?? The Bald One White cat 11:39, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Enough discussions! I know. -- MISTER ALCOHOL T C 06:18, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
How can we help to resolve this? Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 17:57, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm busy working on the mainspace. But what you can do is build up this WikiProject and request it to be approved. Then we can get going with task force construction. (There are already three members and counting.) That's all I can tell you for now. - MISTER ALCOHOL T C 03:03, 15 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

What? I'm Alberto García. I've been editing anonymously from my Verizon IP for seven years now, Brett. I only registered THIS account just a little more than a month ago. Celebrities on YouTube

I noticed you moved List of YouTube celebrities to Celebrities on YouTube. Whilst you may believe that matches naming conventions the title change gives the page a whole new meaning; changing it from a list of people who are famous because of their YouTube accounts to be a page where someone would expect to see a list of famous people who also maintain a Youtube account. The move doesn't make sense to me; so I've reverted it. Regards, --Blowdart | talk 06:45, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reminding me. But read WP:NC, it'll tell you something. -- MISTER ALCOHOL T C 05:23, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
You need to dig deeper, specifically into the Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists)#Naming_conventions where you will see "List of" is specifically encouraged. So if you have been changing a lot of lists I'd consider moving them back. --Blowdart | talk 14:15, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your Sig

What's the point of your giant flamboyant signature? John Reaves 08:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I was wondering the same thing myself.--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 07:20, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The answer is simple. In 1995, when my website first went online, I thought of a signature which would attract Internet users to my website. A few days later, I decided to make myself a signature with this code:
<font color="red"><b><em>MISTER ALCOHOL</em></b></font>
...thus making this:
MISTER ALCOHOL
And I used it for over three years. The current version of my signature has been used since 1999, when I realized that I could have it in a font which would be more beer-like. It took me some time to think about it, and thus I used this code:
<font face="Brush Script MT" color="red" size=4>MISTER ALCOHOL</font>

...to make this:

MISTER ALCOHOL
And there you have it. I have used this signature since the very start of my website, and I continue to use it to this day. When I created this account back in October after being anonymous here for seven years, I decided to add on the T C buttons to make it easier for other people to visit my pages. Thanks for your questions. -- MISTER ALCOHOL T C 05:10, 10 December 2008
