Greetings! It looks like you've created an assignment for your students at SBI4U Emery Wikipedia Assignment. Unfortunately, this is placed in the main encyclopedia space for Wikipedia. Speedy deletion nomination of SBI4U Emery Wikipedia Assignment

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SBI4U Emery Wikipedia Assignment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello from the Wiki Education Foundation

Hi Missgignac,

It looks like you tried to create a Wikipedia page for an SBI4U assignment. That's great! Unfortunately it just looks like you added information about the class to the wrong place -- as an encyclopedia article bout SBI4U :). One place to add a class assignment is in your userspace. That means anything that follows en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Missgignac. So, for example you could put it here: User:Missgignac/SBI4U (← just click that to create the page). Nobody will delete information you add there unless it violates copyright.

I work for the Wiki Education Foundation, a non-profit that works with instructors and students as they work on Wikipedia for class. We only support higher education classes, but you might be interested to check out some of the resources/materials we have available, as there's no reason they couldn't be used for high school as well. A good place to start is the "for instructors" section of our website. You might also be interested to have your students work through the online training designed for students, and if you're new to Wikipedia yourself you may like to check out the online training designed for educators.

I couldn't find your email, so also sent this to the information email on the school's website.

Good luck! --Ryan (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:50, 27 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
