Medical references
editThank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them.) WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here.
We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note, or post to the talk page of the Wikipedia WikiProject Medicine -- LuK3 (Talk) 16:51, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
January 2021: Your contributions to Parkinson's disease
editHello, Miriam Miñana; thank you for your interest in PD. I see (above) that LuK3 has already pointed you towards Wikipedia's guidelines for sourcing medical content, so in addition to reinforcing the importance of that information, I want to bring some other things to your attention.
- In this edit on 16 December 2021, you added content cited to two primary sources. Per MEDRS (indicated to you above), it would be more appropriate to add such information when it has been reviewed or covered by secondary sources. It is also WP:UNDUE to include lengthy speculative information related to one country only in the lead of an article, so I removed that information from the lead, and trimmed the content to what is appropriately worded and encyclopedic content.
- Today, at 16:48 UTC, you re-added that content, which was reverted by LuK3 for the same reasons I explain.
- Today again, between 17:04 and 17:10 UTC, you continued adding the same content, which I have again removed.
It is important that you understand Wikipedia's sourcing guidelines for medical content, but even more important that you read WP:EDITWAR and WP:3RR. Once your edit has been removed, it is expected that you will discuss at Talk:Parkinson's disease and gain consensus before re-adding the material. Continuing to add it could result in your being blocked from editing Wikipedia. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:36, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
- Similarly, you are adding the same source to other articles;[1] [2] it is important that you also read WP:REFSPAM and consider whether you have a conflict of interest in this area. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:53, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
